I have been trying to feed my family healthier, and lighter meals. Finding tasty, quick meals that kids will like and are healthy can be a challenge. The mom next door, Tania Boughton is here to the rescue with Eating Light, Done Right.

Eating Light, Done Right Cookbook Review

When I opened up Eating Light Done Right, I was a little confused. I thought it was exclusively a cook book. Actually, it is much more. The first two sections are all about understanding how you got where you are with your weight, about loving yourself, and making lifetime eating decision that you can live with.  Tania goes on to talk about how to change your attitude and life style to reflect your new focus on getting and staying healthy. This might mean limiting your time from people who are not supportive of you and your weight loss.

From there, she encourages the reader to do it and not just think about it. Commit to eating healthier and exercising and then do it. This is where I am in my journey. I’m reading books about it but now I’ve gotta do it. 🙂 I have been buying healthier foods, reading labels, and preparing healthier foods. Next, I need to start exercising. Tania asks the reader to reflect on whether you believe you are worth the effort to make the changes. Wow. If I answer that, maybe I’ll actually start!

The rest of Eating Light Done Right is full of healthy recipes that most anyone would enjoy, including kids. As a mom, I don’t want, nor do I have the time to prepare one “diet” meal for myself and another meal for my family. Tania’s Simply Sinless recipes contain 10 ingredients or less and don’t take long to prepare.

There is an entire section on Simply Sinless Breakfasts with recipes like Eggs Over My Hammy Breakfast Sandwich, Cinnamon Raisin French Toast, Ham & Cheese Omelets, and more. The variety is great.

The Simply Sinless Lunches are anything but boring lunch meat sandwiches! Recipes like Teriyaki Chicken & Lettuce Wraps, Greek Chicken Salad, Three C’s Quesa D’s, and Easy Cheesy Chicken Quesadillas will make anyone want to eat healthy!

For dinner, there are a number of Simply Sinless Dinner recipes including Short-on-time Lasagna, Leaner Meatloaf, Totally Terrific Tuna Casserole, and Brandied Shrimp with Rice.

Tania teaches that everything within moderation is the key. Even when it comes to dessert, moderation is the key!  Enjoy Simply Sinless light dessert recipes like Aren’t You an Angelfood Cake with Berries, Va-Va Vanilla Cupcakes, and White Chocolate Berry Tartlet.

The recipes look delicious, it is hard to believe they are healthy! I like that many are just variations of traditional recipes that are higher in calories and fat, recipes that my family already enjoy. The transition is going to be easier than I thought. 🙂
