Fannie May Chocolates in Hudson Review

As I opened the door to the Fannie May Chocolates store in Hudson and looked around, I felt like a kid in a candy store!  OK, you’re probably rolling your eyes back into your head right now, but it’s true!  Fannie May Chocolates are available online too! The selection of chocolates, candy, and cakes in there is amazing!  It’s a sweet-lovers nirvana!  If you can’t find something for all the folks on your list in there, I’d be shocked! Fannie May’s selection of Easter candy really can’t be beat. They’ve been around since 1920, and are known for their high quality gourmet  chocolates with a 100% satisfaction guarantee.  And how can you not have at least a few spring-looking sweets in those Easter baskets?!

I assembled my best crew of taste-testers and here is our list of favorites:

One can definitely tell that Fannie May uses high quality ingredients with the very first nibble.  Silky-smooth chocolate, and creamy centers are a given with their products. By far, the kids’ top three choices were the Milk Chocolate Peanut Butter Egg, the Dark Chocolate Marshmallow Eggs and the Milk Chocolate Foil Eggs.  Do you see a theme?!  🙂 We adults fell in love with the Pixies–nuts covered in caramel and drenched in chocolate (they’ve been part of the product line since 1946 and are a perennial favorite!).  Special for Easter and springtime, the Pixies are “dressed up” with drizzles of  yellow and green chocolate.  Our nut loving kids enjoyed these too.  picture of Fannie May Pixies The Mint Meltaways are beyond wonderful.  Just opening the box you get a waft of marvelous mint perfection.  They too are wearing their sunny best in shades of  pink, green and yellow.  A boxed pound of these would make a most appreciated hostess gift, teacher gift, or special addition to your Easter dessert offerings.

If you are looking for something a bit different, try the Chocolate Egg Assortment.  We sampled the Peanut Butter Egg, as mentioned above, as well as the Milk Chocolate Fruit and Nut Egg.  The Fruit and Nut Egg was a yummy, different blend of flavors.  There is a total of 11 different eggs to choose from.  Some other combos that sounded particularly good to us were: Dark Chocolate Raspberry, Dark Chocolate Coconut, and Yellow Vanilla  Buttercream.

April 10th – April 23rd, Fannie May is offering 20% off one pound or more of cream eggs.  You can even pick your own custom assortment of these beauties!

Last but certainly not least on our review list is the selection of Chocolate Easter Bunnies.  These babies are solid  premium chocolate!  Fannie May is offering them at amazing prices this year! The 3 oz bunnies are a mere $2.99, 6 oz bunnies run $4.99, and their most popular 12 oz. bunnies are only $6.99.  Wow!  And, if you’d prefer a smaller dose of chocolate heaven, try their Bunny Pops.  Cute milk chocolate, white chocolate and pink chocolate  bunny faces on a stick.  I’ve given an assortment of these as gifts before and they’ve always been met with wide smiles.

Fannie May Chocolates Easter Items

If that list is not enough, Fannie May’s selections go on.  Specifically for Easter, they have gift baskets, and even cute stuffed animals holding a bounty of foil wrapped chocolate eggs.  Jelly Bird Eggs and all sorts of other Easter novelties round out the offerings. If you are looking for non-Easter items, Fannie May has tons of those too!   The kind store staff can help you select some customer favorites, and you can customize your own gift selection.   They even have a section of bins storing single piece candy sold by the pound.  And yes, the store carries fudge, cheesecakes and ice cream cakes too!  To check out all the amazing concoctions, log onto www.fanniemay.com. I should also mention that the Fannie May/Harry London Chocolate factory is located in North Canton.  It employs about 1,200 folks-a nice boost for the local economy!  You can also arrange a tour of the factory for just $2/child and $3/adult.  What a fun family field trip!  Tours can be reserved by calling 1.800.321.0444.

I guess I’ll “take the bullet” for everyone else and dive into the Easter leftovers. I’d definitely have to get several of the caramel pecan fudge eggs and healthy samplings of the jelly bird eggs.

Fannie May Chocolates has so much to offer, plus some unusual products you don’t see too often. It would be tough to decide–of course I would love to buy some of the Easter eggs—the Raspberry chocolate one sounds yummy. I almost had a meltdown when I was looking at the cheesecake pictures–especially the Mint Meltaway cheesecake.
