Last week, I asked you about my Holiday Preview Potluck Party and asked you what holiday dessert recipes I should make. I decided on several recipes and actually made a couple videos of 2 holiday dessert recipes found on Pillsbury.com. I made the Pecan-Pumpkin Pie and the Holiday Pumpkin-Chocolate Strudel. Both were huge hits and there were no leftovers!
Holiday Dessert Recipes
One thing that I like about the recipes on Pillsbury.com is that most recipes are easy, many take under 30 minutes from start to finish. Their slogan of “Pillsbury Makes Ideas Easy” is really true. The recipes don’t require a zillion steps and a ton of ingredients. Check out below my intro video on the two holiday dessert recipes I made.
The recipes were quick and easy. My daughter and I enjoyed baking the desserts together. There were plenty of steps that she could help out with.
Both desserts were yummy. The strudel broke apart a little when I cut it, it was the first time I’ve made it and had no idea how to roll a jelly roll, so that my have something to do with it. 🙂 It was presentable though and tasted great.
My favorite was the Pecan Pumpkin Pie. I think it is my new favorite pumpkin recipe! It was the first time I’ve baked a pie with pecans, I have always been nervous to attempt a pecan pie. After that success, now I plan to try the Mincemeat Pie recipe – something I would have never attempted before!

I love trying new recipes, don’t you? You can find all kinds of recipes for everyday dinners to holiday recipes.

Our first official Christmas Party is coming up soon, so I’ve already been looking at the 50 Fabulous Holiday Appetizers. There is section devoted to Christmas Recipes. I think I will try either the Confetti Pinwheels or the Crescent Bacon-Cheese Tartlets. Both look like crowd pleasers.
