What is Listeria Monocytogenses?
This organism has fatality rates exceeding Salmonella. It affects older adults, pregnant women, newborns, and adults with weakened immune systems. Other healthy individuals may suffer only short-term symptoms, such as high fever, headache, stiffness, nausea, abdominal pain, and diarrhea. The infection can also cause miscarriages and stillbirths among pregnant women.
This organism is found in soil and water; therefore, it often affects animals and a variety of uncooked raw materials. While searching further, I found out that unlike most bacteria, Listeria Monocytogense bacteria could grow and multiply in some foods in the refrigerator. Yikes!
What are the affected products?
Apparently, Fresh Food Concepts, Inc. manufactured several brands of layered dips. The following is list of product description with the UPC codes and Use By date codes.
