Parmesan Chicken Strips Recipe
When you come home from a day at work, it’s a big help to have these tasty chicken strips stashed away in your freezer. Round out the meal with brown rice and a steamed vegetable, such as broccoli, for a dinner that’s on the table in 30 minutes.

Parmesan Chicken Strips Recipe Ingredients
- 16 whole wheat soda crackers, broken into pieces
- 1/3 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp dried marjoram
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
- 1 lb boneless skinless chicken breasts
- 1 large egg
- 1 clove garlic, minced
Parmesan Chicken Strips Recipe Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C)
- Combine crackers, Parmesan, basil, marjoram, paprika and pepper in food processor. Process to make fine crumbs. Transfer to a shallow bowl.
- Cut chicken breasts in half lengthwise to make 2 thin pieces. Cut each piece diagonally into 5 strips.
- In a bowl, beat egg and garlic. Add chicken strips. Using a fork, dip chicken strips, a few at a time, in crumb mixture until lightly coated. Arrange on rack set on baking sheet, spacing strips 1 inch (2.5 cm) apart. Discard any excess egg and crumbs.
- Bake in preheated oven for 14 to 18 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink inside.
Tip: If making batches of chicken strips to freeze, use fresh (not defrosted) chicken breasts. Prepare recipe through step 3, placing unbaked strips on a rack set on baking sheet. Freeze until firm, then transfer to a storage container. Can be frozen for up to 1 month. There’s no need to defrost them before baking; simply increase the baking time to 19 to 25 minutes.
