No doubt, Smucker’s (an Ohio-based food manufacturer) makes good peanut butter.   Not only we support Ohio-based businesses, my family loves Smucker’s Peanut Butter and Strawberry Jelly.  The combination makes a yummy PB&J sandwich that my son takes to school twice a week.

Anyway,  Smucker’s is voluntarily recalling their 16 ounce jar Natural Peanut Butter  due to salmonella contamination.

The Smucker’s Peanut Butter Recall 2011 products have been distributed in many states including Arkansas, Colorado, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Texas, Virginia, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia.

If you have 16 oz Smucker’s Natural Peanut Butter that matches the data listed below,  please discard the product and make a phone call between Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM to Smucker’s Toll Free number 1-888-550-9555 for a replacement coupon. The company may require proof of purchase.

  • UPC: 5150001701 (located on the side of the jar’s label below the bar code)
  • Production Codes: 1307004 and 1308004
  • Best-If-Used-By dates: August 3, 2012 and August 4, 2012
  • Chunky product only (not creamy)
