We took the Schwan’s for a Week challenge and cooked only Schwan’s food for dinner. You can see my unpacking video to see what a week’s worth of meals looks like delivered to your door step. The below picture is a box of meals for breakfast and dinner. You can also see what we had for Breakfast all week with Schwan’s.
I was so, so excited to have a full week’s worth of dinners ready for me last week. It was a very busy week of after school activities, sports, and church events, so I really needed a break in the evenings! I certainly was spoiled last week with easy meals to pop in the oven, microwave, or grill last week. There is no reason we can’t give ourselves a break, especially on busy week nights. Schwan’s offers healthy meals that your whole family will enjoy – while saving you precious time!
What a Week’s Worth of Dinner Looks Like at my House
On a chilly evening, nothing is heartier than a pot pie. We had the Beef Pot Pie for dinner with a side of salad. It was the easiest meal ever, just pop it in your oven or even the microwave. I enjoy pot pies with a crispy crust, so we opted for the oven.
Honestly, I never served my family Beef Pot Pies before only chicken. It is a completely different experience, we all really enjoyed it.
It was savory with tender cuts of beef and plenty of vegetables in a delicious beef gravy. It was a very, very simple to prepare and no-clean up meal that left my family satisfied. For $9.97, dinner for 4 is done!
When I opened the Lasagna Roll Ups, it honestly didn’t seem like much for dinner. It looked like it would be good but the size had me concerned. Once it was prepared, my family couldn’t finish it all, it was so much to eat!
Lasagna in my house is always a favorite and Schwan’s makes delicious 6 oz portion sized roll ups that are full of delicious Italian flavors with 5 cheeses – ricotta cheese, imported Pecorino Romano cheese, Mozzarella, Fontina and Parmesan. It is simple to make, pour a small amount of sauce on the bottom of a dish, add the lasagna, and pour more sauce on top.
I paired it with a crispy garlic toast and side salad.
The 5-cheeses make this a crowd pleaser! It could easily be made for dinner and parties! For $7.68, enjoy this Italian feast for four.
Before a busy night of sports, my family enjoyed the Chicken Alfredo Bianco Flatbread Thin Crust Pizza. This flatbread pizza is loaded with grilled chicken, peppers, olives, spinach, mozzarella and Parmesan cheese. We grilled it on our indoor grill but you can also bake it in the oven.
My husband, son, and I enjoyed the flavor combination a lot. My daughter would have rather enjoy their Cheese pizza. If you have picky eaters, I’d recommend purchasing this for the adults because you’ll love the flavors and something simple for your kids.
It comes with 2 pizzas and is suppose to feed 4, however it would have to be paired with something else to count for a full dinner. It would feed 4 for lunch easily. For us, it was the perfect meal before sports – not too heavy but stratifying. We had a healthy snack before bed. The flatbread pizzas run $8.30 for two.
I couldn’t wait to serve the Italian Style Cheese Stuffed Chicken Breasts. They were hand-stuffed with ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, romano cheese and sun-dried tomatoes and topped with crispy panko.
Of course, they were easy to make in the oven or microwave, so I was happy to have the night off of cooking. I didn’t prepare a side of pasta to go with the stuffed chicken.
The chicken came out tender and juicy. The inside stuffing was hot and flavorful. My daughter didn’t care for the sun-dried tomatoes, it is a more ‘grown-up’ taste but the rest of us enjoyed the flavorful combination. 4 servings cost $14.98, this would be great for easy dinner parties too.
The 2 lb resealable bag of Six Cheese Tortellini makes 9 servings. This is a very quick dinner that is cooked in less than 5 minutes – perfect for busy week nights!
We made a hearty fresh vegetable sauce with peppers, spinach, and tomatoes. My daughter enjoyed helping us. She remembered learning on the Reading Rainbow how to blanch tomatoes. We normally just add them fresh but my husband took her at her word and we blanched them.
My husband is so good with our kids, especially with encouraging them with trying new things and anything educational. He turned a simple cooking at home moment into life-long learning and growing moment. After they blanched the tomatoes, she thought it was awesome how she could peel the skins right off. He turned the learning concept into a life application. It is always a great idea to have your kids involved with the cooking of a meal – they are more likely to eat what they cook.
I like that you can do as little or as much as you want with Schwan’s dinners. Serve plain or with any sauce you prefer.
Or load it with tons of veggies and sauce. The bag of tortellini is $11.15 or about $5.50 per meal for family of 4.
