There are a few staple easy recipes that I rely on during busy weeknights. One of those is tuna casserole. It is a quick, easy, and nutritious meal. It is one of the only ways my kids actually eat fish too.
I received product to facilitate this post.
Tuna Casserole is a simple recipe, my mom made it with little to no seasoning and I loved it as a kid. I like to switch it up like I did this week by adding new flavors like fresh mushrooms and Worcestershire with a panko and mozzarella cheese topping.
I always use Wild Planet tuna – it’s the best in my opinion.
The flakes of tuna are delicious – and not mushy like other brands. There is a huge difference between Wild Planet and other brands and it all starts with their philosophy of preserving and protecting our wild planet. If we take care of our planet, we’ll have plentiful, healthy food production.
Wild Planet Foods are pole caught or from troll catch fisheries – they never use purse seine or long-line gear. This is the safest catch method for sustaining the earth’s ecosystem.
Wild Planet Foods offers a great variety of canned seafood including Wild Skipjack and Wild Albacore Tuna, Salmon, Sardines, Anchovies, Mackerel, Yellowtail, Shrimp, and even organic chicken.
What could be more fun for 10 year old boys than boasting about eating sardines?
Not many kids have tried such a unique product, although the movie, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs has brought a lot of attention to sardines! My son has had sardines before but his friend had not. It was quite the episode watching him try it for the first time! Of course my son was telling him that even his little sister had tried it, so he had to. He tried it and was surprised at how good Wild Planet Sardines are!
I must admit that this was the first time I’ve tried sardines too and was surprised that they taste great, just like tuna. Wild Planet offers sardines packed in tomato sauce, olive oil, and water.
I had no idea how healthy sardines are for you. They are packed with good stuff! Did you know that sardines provide more calcium and phosphorus than milk, more iron than spinach, more potassium than coconut water/bananas, and just as much protein as steak?!
I wonder if Wild Planet Foods was in charge of Baby Brent Sardines Cannery if the the folks of Swallow Falls would have ever needed the FLDSMDFR.
