Chicken Soup for the Soul NASCAR Review

Chicken Soup for the Soul NASCAR is a collection of 101 stories that get to the heart of NASCAR. You will get a behind-the-scenes look at all of the action both on and off the track. You will hear enlightening stories from NASCAR fans, Famous drivers, pit crews, and race car families. Chicken Soup for the Soul NASCAR tells stories of on and off the racetrack, about the very sweet, down-to-earth Earnhardt family, about successes and losses, on romance, perseverance, comebacks, the business, and the great NASCAR fans. Chicken Soup for the Soul NASCAR is an excellent book for NASCAR fans, men, women, kids with dreams of being a race car driver, and for those that like to learn about new things to expand their horizons.

To be honest, I know nothing about NASCAR and wasn’t sure how I’d like this book. I have nothing against NASCAR, however I have no experience with NASCAR either. I am someone who likes to try new things, whether it is a new type of food, new stores, new family activities, new crafts, new paths at the park, new vacation spots, etc. I think it is good to experience new things, so I gave Chicken Soup for the Soul NASCAR a shot. Guess what, I am now a fan.

Of course Chicken Soup for the Soul gathers the best of the best stories with great themes and topics. I’ve never read a Chicken Soup book that I haven’t at the very least enjoyed reading. This NASCAR book has taught me a lot about not only the sport but the people who love it.

The very first story within the book that I read was about a newspaper reporter that had just moved into the area and his first story was to be on the fans reaction to the death of Dale Earnhardt. He had never been a fan or understood the attraction to NASCAR so this was a big challenge for him. He met some great people that really impressed him at the Raceway Grill. In the end, the reporter found the NASCAR fans to be the “most generous, friendliest people in the world”. I needed this story to break me into the NASCAR world. I’m so glad that I had the opportunity to learn about the heart of NASCAR, the great people.

I’d like to get “Chicken Soup for the Soul: Count Your Blessings” for a friend who is going through some hard times. It’s always good (albeit difficult) to see the silver lining in the clouds when one’s in the midst of trying times; this book would be a nice reminder that there is still good.
