Curious Chef Review

The kitchen is the heart of our home. A lot of great memories have been created with my kids, even as toddlers helping me in the kitchen. The kitchen is a great place to learn and have fun. I recently discovered Curious Chef, a company that designs real kitchen tools for kids! I’m happy to have the chance to review their product and tell you about it.

More on Curious Chef

Curious Chef products were created to fill a need for kid-size kitchen tools since adult size cooking utensils are too big and toy utensils are not practical.  Don’t be tempted to allow your kids to cook with toy kitchen utensils as they are not made safe for such applications. Curious Chef products comply with all relevant standards including the CPSC lead and phthalate (BPA) limits.

They design utensils just right for kids to cook up all their favorite recipes. Having the right tools encourages creativity, discovery, and fun for kids. The products are designed for kids ages 5 and up, with supervision. Your kids will really feel like they are helping because the products actually work, they are not toys. Curious Chef products are made of nylon and silicone so they safer to use by kids, yet still work. The best part is that they are ergonomically designed for little hands.

Curious Chef has about everything to fill a real kitchen available for little hands. They have more than 50 items including utensils, mixing bowls, measuring cups, knives, cutting boards, serving utensils, apparel, cookie cutters, mugs, bowls of all kinds, rolling pin, apparel, and much more. They offer fabulous gift sets and boxed sets which gives your budding chef a great collection of related items. Curious Chef also has gift sets for kids cooking parties, what a fun idea for a kids birthday party.

Hands on Review of Curious Chef

My kids and I cook together almost every day. I started this habit when they were just babies, I’d let them keep me company in the kitchen while preparing meals. I would monologue what I was doing while I cooked. My kids love to help wash, mix, pour in, and even measure ingredients when we cook together. With Curious Chef items, my kids can actually help more as their hands fit the tools properly. My kids feel proud to have their own tools.

These are the items we reviewed: Vegetable Scrubber, Green Pepper Cutting Board, Storage Tote, Medium Nylon Plastic Knife, Kitchen Timer, Nylon Pizza Cutter, and Medium Silicone Mixing Spoon.picture of Curious Chef Review

The Vegetable Scrubber was easy for Elijah to handle and it did a great job washing the green pepper for our pizza.  It ergonomically fits in little hands, has durable bristles and my favorite part is that it is dishwasher safe. $3.99

My son has always wanted to help with chopping of the vegetables, which has always been a “no, I’m sorry, you can’t” answer. Now, with Curious Chef, Elijah can help with chopping the vegetables with the Nylon Knife on his very own cutting board. This is by far his favorite utensil from Curious Chef. He feels so proud of his ability to cut vegetables and to be able to help, he loves it! The serrated cutting edge really does cut but it is a safer option as it has a blunt tip and the soft touch button grips make holding the knife easier. Knife $3.99 The cutting board  has a non-slip edge for added convenience and safety plus it is double sided. Cutting board: $8.99

Elizabeth enjoyed using the Medium Silicone Mixing Spoon to stir the pizza sauce and spread it on the pizza dough.  It was ergonomically sized for her little hands with the soft touch button grips to keep it from slipping. Mixing  Spoon $3.99

We used the timer to keep track of baking the pizza. This is great for introducing numbers and time to little ones.  And kids love the loud buzzer sound! Timer $4.99  The nylon pizza cutter was also a huge hit with my kids. It was so easy for them to use and really cut easily through the pizza, to my surprise. Now they find all types of food to cut at the table with the pizza cutter, no harm done and they are having fun. Pizza Cutter $3.99

Everything we had and a lot more can fit in the durable storage tote with zipper top. We plan to fill this up one piece at a time. My kids love to grab their bag when it is time to cook. Tote $8.99

I recommend Curious Chef Real Kitchen Tools for Kids

Curious Chef products are not just little adult kitchen items. Sure, they are smaller but they go beyond that. The products are ergonomically designed to fit small hands with grips to keep the tools safely in their hands. They are fun products for kids to gain confidence in their growing cooking skills, plus they are just plain fun to look at with trendy colors!

Curious Chef is a unique gift idea for kids. They have a varied selection of gift sets to choose from. This is a gift that the whole family can enjoy. A gift set is a perfect gift idea that won’t be a duplicate, quickly outgrown gift, or the wrong style or size. The products are high quality, durable, and tested safe.

This post is so cute! It sounds like your kids are probably learning a lot about how to make food, which has been shown to make kids like more diverse foods (helping them have a healthier diet). This article brought up a lot of fond memories of when I was a child. Now, as an adult and experienced cook, I love seeing innovative new products, and these kitchen utensils brightened my morning.

My daughter would probably love the nonstick rolling pin, since she likes to roll cookies with my old fashioned wooden one but gets frustrated when the dough sticks too much. crayolaswap at hotmail dot com

I would love to have the 8-piece Fruit & Vegetable Set for my kids. We are joining a crop-share program this summer, and they want to help with all aspects. I just get so nervous about the sharp utensils!
