The K’Nex Kick It! Elmo Building Set is yet another way to have fun with Sesame Street’s most adorable character, Elmo! My kids love watching Sesame Street and cannot wait for the Elmo’s World segment. The K’Nex Kick It! Elmo Building Set was the perfect toy to review and have a giveaway!
The building set comes in its own storage canister with Elmo’s Head as the lid. This makes clean up and storage easy as well as provide the ability to easily transport the toy to grandma’s house. The building set includes 15 pieces, including shoes, arms, legs, soccer ball, and sturdy K’Nex blocks. The building set includes unbelievably easy to understand instructions to build Elmo, other puzzles, and a “Play & Learn” activity sheet.
K’Nex Kick It! Elmo Building Set Hands On Review
The K’Nex Kick It! Elmo Building Set is now a favorite toy for Elijah, age 5. The product is labeled for 2-5 year olds. The fact that it is a set of building blocks that can be designed and created into many variations with and without the instructions, make it just as much fun and challenging for a 2 year old as it is for a 5 year old. My son was able to follow the instructions without any assistance from me. He had a great time watching the progression of Elmo! The puzzle was of a recognizable character which made the puzzling easy. The completed Elmo wore a soccer team uniform, and held a soccer ball in his hand.
After successfully completing the Elmo character, my son had a great time making other variations described in the instructions. He used his imagination to create lots of fun Elmos!
The “Play & Learn” activity sheet had a lot of information on how to play soccer, including rules of the game. This gave my son and I the opportunity to discuss the game and whether he would like to try out a sport this spring. We have decided to take up Soccer! Thanks, Elmo! (I think) The other activities on the Play & Learn guide were fun too. We mixed and matched colors of blocks by direction, not site, encouraging good listening skills. Then, we took Elmo on an adventure through the house searching for laid out colors to match his uniform. Usually, instructions are read once and tossed. I’ve never paid much attention to see if other toys come with ‘games’ like this but I will be sure to look the next time because it was a lot of fun.
Our favorite part of the K’Nex Elmo is that it is a building block toy that can be carried around and shown to others. My son has been taking Elmo to his Dinosaur cave, the jungle, to grandma’s, and to bed with him. It’s more than just a building toy, it is an actual toy that kids can play with even when the building activity is done. Kick It Elmo would be a great gift for kids birthday parties or a special surprise anytime of the year.
