Ouidad is known for their innovative, high quality products for curly hair. Now they are expanding their line to include Wave Create products that are ideal for all hair types. I received the Wave Create Sea Spray and Texture Taffy to facilitate my review. With the beachy/tousled hair style being such a popular look this summer, it’s a great time to try the new Wave Create Sea Spray and Texture Taffy from Ouidad.
Get Your Wave On With Ouidad’s Sea Spray and Texture Taffy
I’ve been styling my hair with the beachy look since last summer when my hair dresser, Jen, at Texture Studio & Spa in Stow, OH, taught me how to achieve the look. I love it because it is a fast, easy, fun look to achieve. Best of all, there is nothing exact about it, and by design, it is slightly messy/tousled. No more worrying about every hair being exactly in the right place.

Ouidad’s Wave Create Sea Spray
I’ve only used the Wave Create Sea Spray a couple of times so far, but I really like it. I simply spray the sea-salt/sea water spray on my towel-dried hair, and scrunch my hair in an upward motion to intensify the waves. Then I just let me hair air dry, or if I’m in a rush, blow dry it using a diffuser. What I am left with is a head full of loose, unstructured waves. I touch up areas with my wide barrel curling iron to complete the look.
My first impression of the Wave Create Sea Spray was that I love the light, fresh fragrance! I also love the fact that it is packed with nourishing natural extracts like sea kelp, algae, and panthenol. Even better yet is that the Wave Create Sea Spray is free of parabens, sulfates, silicones and synthetic dyes. Who needs all that junk?!

Ouidad’s Wave Create Texture Taffy
This is my first time using a taffy-like product to achieve the tousled look. Like the Sea Spray, the Texture Taffy smells great. The directions suggest scooping out a nickel-sized amount of the product, and rubbing it in your hands to warm the taffy. Then, cup the ends of your damp hair in your palms and scrunch to encourage wave formation. Continue until the cream disappears on the ends, and the waves are created. Again, you can either let your hair air dry, or use a diffuser with your blow dryer.
I found that with my hair, the Texture Taffy created more defined, bouncy waves and even some curls. When using the taffy, I didn’t add any curls with my curling iron or flat iron. It has a slightly heavier feel to it than the Sea Spray, keeping the waves in place longer. Like the Sea Spray, it has a nice, fresh, subtle scent. The Texture Taffy is loaded with sea kelp, algae extract, and milk thistle extract to nourish, moisturize, and add shine to hair. It too is free of parabens, sulfates, and silicones.
