With the season changing, my allergies are driving me crazy! One way I fight back is by breathing fresh, clean air while I work. Easier said than done, right? According to the EPA,
Indoor air pollution is among the top five environmental health risks.
What causes indoor air pollution?
- Particulate matter such as: dust, smoke, pollen, animal dander, tobacco smoke, particles generated from combustion appliances like cooking stoves, and particles associated with tiny organisms such as dust mites, molds, bacteria, and viruses.
- Gaseous pollutants come from combustion processes such as: gas cooking stoves, vehicle exhaust, and tobacco smoke, building materials, furnishings, and from using adhesives, paints, varnishes, cleaning products, and pesticides.
How can we improve air quality? Among many ways, you can use an air purifier, but not with just any air purifier. Did you know that some air cleaners intentionally produce ozone? Ozone is a gas, a lung irritant, that is created inside your home to destroy pollutants. Sounds scary, right? Studies suggest that such air purifiers actually lead to poorer indoor air quality.
So, what is a good solution to tackle the indoor air pollutants in your home?
Humanscale ZŌN Personal Air Purifier Review
The Humanscale ZŌN Personal Air Purifier is unlike any other on the market. By using patented technology, the ZŌN provides ozone-free, ultra pure air directly to the user. Instead of trying to purify the air of an entire room or house, this unit gives the user direct results right within their own breathing zone. Plus, you only use it when you need it, saving energy.
A University of Minnesota revealed that some of the best-in-class HEPA, electrostatic precipitator and ionizer style room air cleaners failed at cleaning air even at a high setting for 8 hours straight. This study was even done in a small, sealed room. In real life, people are going in and out of rooms, opening doors, opening windows, etc. Many created the harmful ozone gas that I spoke about earlier too. The full room air purifiers were not delivering the results that this single Humanscale ZŌN Personal Air Purifier can deliver.
Humanscale ZŌN Personal Air Purifier Video Review
How does the Humanscale ZŌN Personal Air Purifier remove more than 99 percent of the pollutants, allergens, irritants, bacteria and viruses from the air that you breathe in on a daily basis?
ZŌN purifies only the air in your personal breathing zone. So, you are not wasting all the energy trying to clean the air in the entire room, you use what you need, when you need it. This small unit is perfect for the office desk or on the night stand at night. Another benefit is that it creates very little air flow, unlike many that blow like a fan – not good in the winter! Also, ZŌN is a lot quieter than traditional air purifiers. You can adjust it from low to high and even at the highest setting, it is quieter than other units. The filter is easy to clean with a vacuum so you aren’t wasting lots of filters. When it is done, you can recyle it with common paper products.
