Red Tailed Hawk Circling our Yard Looking for Something…

I think I wrote in the spring about a robin that will not stop attacking its reflection in our windows!  Well, our neighborhood has upgraded.

Circling our yard, and the neighbor’s yard is a mature red-tailed hawk.  He’s been here for about 2 weeks.  The funny thing is, I think he’s looking for something.  He’s not screaching like you may hear in the park, but he’s squeeking.  Check out our video below that my husband took.

He keeps circling around and around.  Sometimes you hear the noise near, sometimes a few hundred feet away, and sometimes he swoops over us in the yard.  I actually kind of like it- he’s kind of like a carnivorous pet with large talons.

Of course, my husband says, as per the new insurance commercial online -“I shoulda got a falcon!” – Anyone else see that commercial?
