When I first saw the Phyllis Harris wonderful wall art, they seemed familiar to me, but I couldn’t put my finger on why. I was reading about the artist, Phyllis Harris and saw that in addition to the books she has illustrated, her work also appeared in magazines and books Scholastic, Fisher-Price, Hooked On Phonics, Highlights and High-Five Magazine ..and bam it hit me… Highlights. That’s where I had seen her work before.
I received product to facilitate this post.
Customizable Wall Art for Kids
Phyllis’ art work speaks to me. The soft but deep water colors are so peaceful. Her themes are so whimsical and hopeful. The best part I think it that each print can be customized, if the print has a child with blonde hair it can be changed to a brunette, you can put your child’s name, or an inspiration quote. I chose to have text removed on one of my prints. I could have made more changes so they matched my children, but I opted not to.
What prints I selected
For my boys I picked two prints that I knew would be important to them even when they get older. For Kelton I chose The Little Boy and The Man in the Moon. His step-father (Papa) passed away over 3 years ago and he tells his messages to his Papa through the moon and stars.
For Kiernan I chose Dream Big Giraffe and Little Boy. Since he was a baby he has always been drawn to Giraffes which is funny since he’s so tiny and Giraffes aren’t tiny at all. You can view all of her customizable wall art for kids here.
Customizable Wall Art Great for any room
When my prints arrived I knew I wanted to mat and frame them. I went to my local craft store and picked up two frames with mats and I painted the mats to work to my liking and Ta-Da! Perfect wall art for our playroom or the kids bedrooms. Look at the amazing detail in these prints, they look just like watercolor paintings.
