Samsung Galaxy S 5 Sport Review
The Samsung Galaxy S 5 Sport smartphone makes an active lifestyle easy with a smartphone that does it all: tracks and records your workouts, suggests new routes, monitors heart rate, keeps you motivated with over 20 million crystal clear tunes from Spotify, and more!
As a Sprint Ambassador, I’ve been able to test out the new Samsung Galaxy S 5 Sport smartphone over the past few weeks and like it for so many reasons.
It has become my personal trainer in many ways. It has inspired me to workout daily because I know it is tracking my activity in detail. The MapMyFitness uses GPS to track all my fitness activities with such detail as my pace, speed, distance, calories burned, route traveled and more.
For instance, today we were at West Branch State Park Beach. My husband and I were reading while our kids splashed in the lake. I couldn’t just there, knowing that I wasn’t going to get any exercise in, so I picked up my smartphone and started walking. It was only a 1/2 mile walk up and down the beach but better than nothing.
My family is active with hiking, walking, and biking nearly every day. My husband and I like to hike and run by ourselves too, mostly in the parks and trails. We don’t ever map out our trips or keep track of it at all, so we never know how far we went, how many calories we burned, etc. We have really enjoyed using the MapMyFitness to track our activity!
Did you know it is nearly 1 mile from the parking lot to the stage at Blossom? We didn’t either until Saturday night!
When I was a really active runner, I would map out where I’d run by first driving my car the route and track it. Or, I’d try to map it out online first. It was never accurate and wasted so much time. MapMyFitness actually gives me suggestions on where to run based on my location! It is so fun to have all this information at my fingertips, and also so motivating.
The audio is fabulous too, as is Spotify premium. I can listen to any song imaginable – over 20 million! I can create my own playlist or featured playlists. I like the Cardio Playlist for running! Plus, I can share tracks with my friends, listen to the songs offline and not be bothered by commercials! Music keeps me moving, so I appreciate the that this smartphone is in stereo Bluetooth 4.0.
The Samsung Galaxy S 5 Sport smartphone also offers hanging features like a barometer, compass, flashlight, and stopwatch – perfect and ready-to-go for us living active lives. This smartphone was made for athletes and active people!
I also like the Smart Health Feature that provides the latest in health and fitness content at my fingertips.
It is an easy way to get caught up on ways to live healthier while waiting in the waiting room at the dentist, in the pick up line at school, or relaxing on the couch at home.
As a smartphone, it is easy to navigate. It is equipped with Multi Window™2 that allows you to toggle between applications without closing windows – love this feature! The 16 megapixel auto focus camera with flash and video capture offers high quality images like this beach picture I took today.
The phone also comes with an easy-to-use editing suite.
As a smartphone, I like the size 5.7 inches x 2.9 inches, battery life (2,800mAh Lithium-ion battery), and the fast 2.5GHz quad-core processor.
If you are an athlete or an active mom too, check out the Samsung Galaxy S 5 Sport smartphone available through Sprint.
