Vermont Soap Organics Liquid Sunshine Review

I have long been using environmentally friendly cleaners in my home.  A little over ten years ago, both my parents went through treatment for different types of cancer.  Soon after, I began doing some thinking and research about all the chemicals we are exposed to on a daily basis.  I grew concerned that such exposure was not only unnecessary, but perhaps unsafe as well.   I decided I wanted to switch from cleaning my house with so many chemical cleaners, and wanted to go a more natural route.

Better Cleaning…No Harsh Chemicals for Your Family or the Environment

That is why I was thrilled to try Vermont Soap Organics Liquid Sunshine household cleaning products.  But I have to be honest – I was also a bit skeptical too.  “Why?” you ask?   Listen to the list of ingredients:  Organic coconut, olive and jojoba oils, organic orange oil, tea tree and other natural essential oils, organic aloe vera and rosemary extract.  That’s it…period!   I wondered, “Could Liquid Sunshine do the job without all the extra stuff?”   I decided to put Liquid Sunshine through the rigors of my dirty kitchen floor.  If it could do a good job on my porcelain tile, it could conquer anything!    A third cup of the Liquid Sunshine in my bucket of water cleaned my floor beautifully!  Dirt and grime lifted off easily, and the cleaner left no haze. My kitchen is pretty good sized, too, and it performed well from start to finish.

Liquid Sunshine's Dynamic Duo! Both in the 16 oz. size

Pleased with its performance on my floor, I decided to follow the label instructions and try it on a few more items.  Liquid Sunshine says it can be used on just about anything: cabinets, tables, floors, to wash dishes, laundry, car interiors, leather, the list goes on.  I decided to use the spray bottle of the Liquid Sunshine on my maple kitchen cabinets.  Voila!  Clean and beautiful.  Counter-tops — fresh, and no hazy residue.

But Does this Organic Cleaner Smell Good?

OK, I’ll admit it – I’m a bit of an olfactory freak!  For me to buy a cleaner, it not only has to work well, but it has to smell good – REALLY good!  I mean, if I’m spending a good amount of time sniffing the stuff, I want some aromatherapy benefits while I work!  Liquid Sunshine passed my sniff test with flying colors!  It has a fresh, clean, citrusy-herb scent that reminds me of, well, sunshine!  🙂  Some other citrus-based cleaners are overpowering and fake smelling.  Liquid Sunshine has a nice balance to it, and it not overwhelming when used on multiple surfaces in one room.

They have two great articles on their site. One about sulfates and another about the antimicrobial debate. I’d recommend reading them to anyone interested in green living.
