Christmas is the most joyous time of the year. It can also be a stressful time for families in need, especially when it comes to kids without Christmas presents on Christmas morning.
Christmas is a Joyous Time of Year
I’ve been reflecting on Christmas a lot lately. It is such a happy time of year, filled with joy, hope, laughter, and fun. I enjoy getting together with friends and family, some of which I may only see a couple times a year. It is such an exciting and happy time of year, unlike any other time. That is why I chose to feature one of my family’s favorite Christmas recipes in the Taste of Home : The Search for Mrs. Holiday Contest. I am currently in 8th place thanks to all of your votes!
If I win this contest and become a Taste of Home Spokesperson, I will have the opportunity to share my tips, recipes, decorating ideas, and more with the Taste of Home audience for Christmas and all the other holidays. What an honor!
Christmas is a Stressful Time of Year
Christmas is a time full of joy but it can also be a very stressful time for people. With a little planning, festive decorations, and a few great recipes, I know that I could help your family make this the best Christmas ever, as a Taste of Home spokesperson.
Help Me Donate $5,000 to Toys for Tots
For many, Christmas is stressful beyond having too many parties to attend or throw, too many decorations to hang, too many presents to buy and shop for, or too many dishes to prepare. Christmas is stressful for many families because they cannot afford to buy their kids Christmas presents. For a mom to not be able to provide her children with toys at Christmas is heart breaking.
That is why I have decided to donate $5,000 to Toys for Tots if I win the Taste of Home : The Search for Mrs. Holiday Contest. The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots program collects new toys from October through December to be distributed to needy children in your community each Christmas. Christmas is about joy and hope. The Toys for Tots program gives that to kids that may not have a Christmas otherwise.
Sure, I would love to win the grand prize for this contest, it would help my family finally finish remodeling our home. I would also really enjoy speaking to the Taste of Home audience across the country in person and through written articles in their magazine. All of that would be an incredible opportunity. However, being able to help many children receive Christmas presents on Christmas morning with my $5,000 contribution would just bless my heart beyond belief.
