If you have considered buying an energy efficient appliance or if you need a new appliance, March is the time to buy!
Ohio Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program will begin March 26 in the state of Ohio for residents (not for commercial, landlords, etc) to take advantage of $11 million in federal stimulus money. There will be about 90,000 rebates available to consumers one a first come first serve basis. You can replace old appliances with Energy Star certified refrigerators, clothes washers, dishwashers, gas heaters and electric heat pump water heaters with rebates from $100 – $250!
Other states have launched an Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program with success. Each state was able to define what appliances would qualify, the rebate amount, and who would qualify. The Ohio Energy Efficient Appliance Rebate Program is an attempt to reduce energy consumption and stimulate the economy in retail sales and manufacturing. In Kansas, their program ran out in 6 weeks. This is a first come first serve program, so once March 26th comes around, have a game plan.
