I love this time of year especially when everything is blanketed with snow. We love sledding, building forts and snowmen, and hiking in the winter wonderland. The only thing that stops us from winter fun is sickness, which normally comes hand and hand with the winter season!
There isn’t much you can do beyond washing your hands to 100% avoid getting a cold or the flu besides being prepared ahead of time so your kids can fight the symptoms fast.
I always keep my medicine cabinet stocked with a few essentials so that I’m ready no matter when the cold or flu bug strikes our home. It is a lot better than having a miserable child in the middle of the night with no medicine. I always keep Pfizer Pediatrics products in my cabinet including: Children’s Advil®,Children’s Robitussin DM Day and Night and Children’s Dimetapp® Cold & Cough on hand to fight the most common cold and flu symptoms.
These products are not only good for my older kids but also my younger niece and nephew, so if I’m babysitting or if they are visiting and start to fell ill, I have something on hand for them too.
For instance, Children’s Advil is good for ages 2-11 which is a wide age-range. Of course the dosage is different for every age/weight. Always read and keep the cartons for complete warnings and dosing information on Pfizer Pediatric products. Use as directed according to packaging or by your doctor.
Children’s Advil is effective at reducing fevers as well as relieving aches, pains, and headaches that often accommodate the cold and flu. It comes in flavors that kids won’t object to including Sugar-free Dye-free Berry, Bubble Gum, Grape, Blue Raspberry, Fruit and Dye-Free White Grape flavors.
If you have younger babies and toddlers, you’ll want to keep on hand Infants’ Advil® White Grape, it comes with a syringe for easy dosing for children 6-23 months.
Pick up the value pack of Children’s Robitussin® DM Day/Night so that you are ready for even the most miserable colds.
The Children’s Robitussin® Cough & Chest Congestion is great at breaking up congestion in your child’s chest and mucus. It is also effective at relieving coughs. It is non-drowsy so your child can still focus on school or whatever his day has in store. This product is for ages 4+.
Getting extra sleep while you have a cold is important as it helps your body fight off the infection that is making you feel sick. This is hard to do when your child is coughing and has a runny nose. Children’s Robitussin® Nighttime Cough Long-Acting helps your child get the rest he needs with a long-acting formula for coughs and runny noses for up to 8 hours of relief. This product is for ages 6+.
Children’s Dimetapp® Cold & Cough is a great multi-symptom cold medication for kids 6+. If your child has a stuffy nose, runny nose, sneezing, coughing, and watery eyes, this is for them.
Keep this product on hand for those miserable colds that seem to totally take over the body! It will give your child must-needed relief.
If you aren’t sure which product is best for your child, check out the Pfizer Pediatric Sick Just Got Real website. They have a symptom finder tool that allows you to input your child’s age and symptoms to find the right product for them.
