Now that we have a preteen and a teenager in our home, we have to think about skincare in a whole new way. Simple cleansers aren’t enough to fight acne and I want to stop it before it gets back like I had it when I was a teen and young adult. I’m so thankful that I found Kamedis, a dermatologist-endorsed botanical skin care line that is effective, gentle on skin, and doesn’t have all the nasty steroids, benzoyl peroxide, paraben and dyes! I’m starting my kids off on a healthier option for their acne-prone skin and couldn’t be more pleased.
Kamedis products started overseas and after 2 decades of research and development along with 8 years of products success, their product line is available to us in the USA. Kamedis uses carefully selected botanicals in accordance with the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine to deliver dermatologist endorsed products for acne, eczema, and more. Today, I’m focusing on their Clear Line for acne control for children as young as 10 through adults.
Step 1: Wash Your Face
The #1 way to fight acne and prevent acne is with a good facial cleanser and washing at least twice daily. This battle was a little difficult to convey to my kids a couple years ago when we first saw signs of acne – washing your face is going to make a huge difference as you wash away the excess oil, sweat, and dirt. The Kamedis Acne Face Cleanser is perfect for acne prone skin or for skin that is red due to inflammation.
My kids actually liked that it is a foaming gel since they’ve never had anything similar in a face cleanser. It leaves the skin feeling fresh and clean, not tight and dry. The entire Kamedis line is about NOT drying out the skin, many acne products are harsh and leave the skin irritated and very dry.
I was told in my young adult years to skip the cleanser wipes that simply remove oils and makeup but to actually use a cleanser and wash away everything. It made a huge difference in my skin. So, I’m passing that onto my kids and you – using a cleanser like the Kamedis Acne Face Cleanser is the best and most important step in preventing acne. Wash your face, rinse, and dry. Repeat twice daily.
Step 2: Moisturize
Finding a good moisturizer when you are fighting acne can be a challenge. I always thought that I didn’t want added moisture to an already oily face! Or, added harsh chemicals in a moisturizer that would actually make my face hurt because it was sensitive. I was wrong, I just didn’t have the right product. The Kamedis Acne Face Moisturizer is amazing and everyone with acne prone skin could benefit from it.
It helps balance the sebum production, clears up acne and oily skin, and helps prevent future acne. This is a must for anyone. Getting my kids to use facial moisturizer has always been a challenge. In fact, when they were toddlers, I would sneak moisturizer on them when they were sleeping because they hated lotion so much! ha! Now that they are tweens/teens, I am able to talk logically to them to tell them it isn’t just about not having dry skin anymore but about preventing and protecting against future outbreaks, so they understand and use it.
It is a really light moisturizer that absorbs quickly, so that helps a lot in getting my kids to actually use it. You really can’t tell it is on once it dries but it is working hard to give my kids healthier and more resilient skin so we are all happy.
Step 3: Treat
The Kamedis Acne Spot Treatment is a must-have for anyone with acne because no matter how diligent we are with washing our faces, tweens, teens, and young adults are still going to have some blemishes. What I really like about this product is that you can see clearer skin and reduce pimples in just 12 hours! So, oddly enough, I haven’t had a blemish on my face in years but this week, I have a doozy on my chin. Just in time to test out this product, I guess. I do like this spot treatment because after just 1 application, I could tell it was working to reduce the size and swelling. Two days later and it’s gone. Nice! I like that it helps immediately and that it is not drying. I remember using products as a teen that would seriously dry my skin out but I thought that was normal so I was always fighting acne and dry skin on top of my already sensitive skin.
If you or your kids have oily-prone skin, pimples, acne, and redness due to inflammation, I highly recommend checking out this dermatologist-endorsed line of Clear Skin Care products. I haven’t tried the Calm Line for Eczema prone skin yet but I’m sure it is just as effective. They also have products for Dandruff.
