SurfaceSaver Rings Keep Dirt Stains Off your Deck and Counter- A Review

Look around your home, and add up your investments.  No, not mutual funds, stocks and bonds, but your investments of the home kind:  wood furniture, floors, expensive stone countertops, and patios and decks.  You have invested a lot of money in these things that make your house a beautiful home.  Why would you risk ruining them with something as simple as a potted plant or flower? This may sound ridiculous, but people, myself included,  do it every day.  Ever had a soil stain from a plant seated on your carpeting or outside deck that left you with an ugly, hard to remove ring?   How about a water stain from an overly humid potted  plant sitting on your wood furniture?  I’ve been there, and unfortunately, done that.   Sadly, I’ve even got photos to prove it!

We installed a beautiful flagstone patio years ago.  It wasn’t cheap – I’d like to keep it looking beautiful.   I love flowers, so besides the perennial beds around the border of the patio, I like to add potted plants to the patio as well.  And my girls have green thumbs too, so we very quickly run out of garden space and move on to container gardening.  I love the SurfaceSaver feet and rings for this purpose.

No more dark stains on the flagstone!  I also think having the pots slightly elevated off the stone, which gets awfully hot during summer days, promotes better plant and root health.  I honestly never thought about that as an issue until I sampled the SurfaceSaver products, and then it hit me, “Wow!  this product will allow better airflow under my potted plants–bet that will be good for them.”  Never said I was a rocket scientist!  🙂

Protect Indoor Surfaces too with SurfaceSaver Feet and Rings

This great product isn’t just for decks and patios either.  It’s inconspicuous design is perfect for indoor surfaces like wood floors, carpeting, furniture and granite countertops too.  And because they are almost invisible, they suit any decor.  Aside from the various ring-shaped sizes, SurfaceSaver also come in a four pack of adjustable feet which are perfect for large or oddly-shaped pots, planter boxes, etc…  Four SpaceSaver Feet can support up to an unbelievable 1500 pounds!

Also worth noting is SurfaceSaver “In Gauge.”  This clever, easy-to-use gauge allows you to determine soil moisture at various levels in the soil.  Sometimes plants can have soil that looks dry on the surface, but in reality, has plenty of moisture deeper in the soil.  Small notches at various levels on the stick grab soil when inserted near the plant and then removed.  By looking at each of the soil samples, you can determine how moist (or not) your plant’s soil is.

I like easy, earth-friendly tools that take the guesswork out of watering and maintaining healthy, beautiful plants AND a beautiful home–inside and out!  SurfaceSaver can be purchased at major retailers nationwide.

Paul–here’s the answer, straight from In Green Co.: “We always use a minimum of 35% post-consumer plastic in all of our products. With that said, we usually average about 65% post-consumer with the balance made up of colorant and other plastics (some post-industrial such as re-grind).”

I could use several of these. I, too have spotted marks on our patio steps and wood furniture. What a great idea and I’m sure they will sell! TFS, Beth
