A booster seat is a booster seat, right? They all do the same thing, right? Not according to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. They claim that you cannot tell which boosters do the best job just by looking at features. Good thing for us, they test booster seats for us! Safety 1st Boost Air Protect® Booster Car Seat offers the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety’s Best Bets award. This means that it correctly positions your vehicle safety belt on a typical 4-8 year old in almost any care, minivan, or SUV. This means that the Boost Air Protect Booster Car Seat is safe when going from your minivan to grandma’s car and to the babysitter’s SUV.

Safety 1st Boost Air Protect Booster Car Seat Review
Sadly, my daughter is growing up. My husband says that I sound like every other mom that has ever lived, sad to see my baby get so big, so fast. Her 5th birthday is next month. Where has time gone? She fits in her convertible car seat just fine now but turning 5, she wants to be like her big brother, in a booster seat. Check out my article on why kids ages 5-9 are required to be in a booster seat, depending on your state’s law.

The Safety 1st Boost Air Protect Belt-Positioning Booster Car Seat offers revolutionary Air Protect® technology that I am super-confident in. What I love about this booster car seat is the safety it provides for side impact crashes. Learn more here. 1 in 4 car crashes with kids are side impact collisions, Air Protect gives your kids a double layer of security.
This booster car seat is for kids 30 to 100 pounds (within the right age bracket!). It is totally adjustable to your child’s needs and height. The head rest is adjustable. In the above picture, you can see the head rest at its lowest point. Below is the head rest at its highest point. Although I can’t imagine any kid needing it THAT high.

The adjustable headrest is very easy to adjust. Just slide to your child’s height and click into place.

This booster car seat is very comfortable for Elizabeth. Her fist words were, “Oh, it is so soft!” The seat is very well made, both in safety and comfort. She immediately liked the arm rests that move up and down for fun easy in and out access. Plus, the slide-out cup holder on either side are the envy in the back seat by big brother!

The Safety 1st Boost Air Protect Booster Seat converts easily to a backless booster. Simply pop off the back and you’ve got a backless booster. This feature won’t be used for quite some time by Elizabeth, but I’m sure as she gets older, she will request it. I like that this booster is something that can grow with your child as he/she doesn’t want to feel like a “baby” at age 7, 8, or 9. It still offers the protection of a booster seat, as required by law in most states up to age 9.

My Car Seat Recommendation
My family has been riding safe with Safety 1st for years. Their Air Protect line is top of the line for safety, especially for side-impact crashes. My nephew rides in the Safety 1st onBoard 35 Air Protect Infant Car Seat and my daughter has been riding in the Safety 1st Complete Air™ Convertible Car Seat since she was 3. Now, my daughter has graduated to the booster seat age, there was no doubt in my mind that I was going to choose one of Safety 1st Air Protect Booster Car Seats. With the Air Protect technology, I am confident that I am providing my child the safest car seat and now the safest booster car seat available. Being recognized by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety just confirms my decision and recommendation to you.
