Being the daughter of a shoe salesman I am kind of picky about what I put on my feet and my kids feet. I want my kids to be in great fitting, comfortable, stylish shoes and also to keep my budget in check! Being the “picky shoe mom” that I am, I was offered to try a pair of pediped® shoes from their new Fall/Winter 2011 line and boy did I put them to the test! I knew all of the right things to look for while J-Girl wore her new shoes and I have to say that they passed this moms detailed test with flying colors!
Getting to know the pediped Company
pediped was started in 2004 by parents Angela and Brian Edgeworth. After the birth of their first daughter they quickly realized that the shoes they wanted their child(ren) to be wearing were not available in the market. While researching the needs of an infant shoe they decided to start their own company to fulfill their needs/wants in quality footwear for infants and young children. pediped believes that “their shoes are best thing next to bare feet” and with the quality and fashionable selection in their shoe lines, I believe it too.
pedipedfootwear is currently being sold in over 3,000 retail stores in the United States and over 40 countries worldwide. pediped has a collection of more than 160 designs for boys and girls between their three shoe lines, Originals, Grip ‘n’ Go™ and Flex. Originals (soft-sole shoes for newborns to age 2), Grip ‘n’ Go™ (thin rubber-soled shoes for children ages 9 months to 3 years) and Flex (rubber-soled shoes for children 1 to 8 years).
With pediped quickly becoming one of the top children’s shoe brands in the market, the company has been able to give generously to many charities worldwide. The pediped foundation has been able to give over $1,000,000 worth of product and monetary support to children in need in just the few short years that pediped has been around. Amazing! pediped also prides itself on providing flex time for fellow working moms as well as implementing a company wide policy of not using sweatshops or any child labor! Just another reason why I love pediped and their generous spirit and strong commitment to family.
Fall/Winter 2011 pediped Collection
The pediped Fall/Winter 2011 collection introduces more than 80 new fashion forward styles and color combinations for each of their footwear’s three signature lines: Originals, Grip ‘n’ Go and Flex. The newest collection has larger sizes available in the Flex line, new school shoe styles and an expanded Adventure Line , pediped’s waterproof outdoor shoe. The new designs are inspired by the latest trends in athletics and fashion. The new Fall/Winter 2011 offerings feature pediped’s signature comfortable fit along with a mix of textures including fun metallic glitter, high quality patent leather and durable suede.
I selected a pair of shoes from the pediped Flex line, the Aspen style in Fuchsia. I loved the bright bold Pink color and the higher height of the shoe to make it almost look like a boot. I thought that this would be the perfect shoe for J-Girl this rainy Fall weather and the snow coming this Winter. My favorite feature of pediped Flex line shoes is the Flex Fit System, which provides a customizable fit with the use of additional insoles (provided with purchase). These can be inserted for a snugger fit at the beginning and then removed as the foot grows and your child needs more room. The Flex Fit System can extend the life of a pair of shoes up to two months!
Things I love about pediped shoes:
- the three collections for every stage your child will need (Originals, Grip ‘n’ Go and Flex).
- there is something for every wardrobe need, dress shoes, Mary Janes, athletic styles etc.
- Flex Fit System, which provides a customizable fit to lengthen the wear of the shoe
