A Michigan lady got a surprising letter from the Michigan Department of Human Services warning her that she cannot watch her neighbors’ kids before school starts without proper day care center licenses. She watching her neighbors’ kids for about a hour before the school bus comes to pick them up.
This friendly, good hearted woman was helping neighbors balance work and family. She is doing something honorable, yet getting in trouble for an out-dated vague law.
Basically, a nosy neighbor complained and messed up a kind, helpful situation for several families. If it doesn’t pertain to you, nobody is in a dangerous or hurtful situation, then leave it be. We need to spend more time getting to know eachother, caring for eachother, and being a community that cares.

What do you think?
Do you ever watch your neighbor’s kids while they run to the grocery store? Do you pick up their mail when they are on vacation or even mow their grass while they are out of town? Isn’t this what the good old fashion communities use to do? Wasn’t life simpler, safer, and happier then?

Wow…..this is just ridiculous! I can’t believe someone actually did this! Why should it bother them? I would be soooo angry if i were these people, especially the parent needing the help. In these times, a lot of people need this kind of help. Even just 1 hour a day, daycare costs would be high!
