Zoology for Kids Book Review
My son has loved learning about animals since he was a toddler. Now that he is going into 5th grade, he knows more facts and details than most adults. He is intrigued by all animals – big and small – and has such a caring, and nurturing personality toward animals. I knew that he would enjoy Zoology for Kids: Understanding and Working with Animals as would any animal lover or kids that are interested in a career in zoology.
Each lesson or chapter includes multiple activities that can be done with an adult and some alone. The activities reinforce the lesson and gives kids a chance to experience the lesson hands-on.
I am very impressed by this book. When I first learned about the book, I expected nothing more than a picture book with activities. Zoology for Kids is more like a Science text book, but in a writing style and format that keeps the attention of kids in grades 4-6.
We will be going through this book as part of our Summer education this Summer. Although it is for grades 4-6, I plan to go through this book with my daughter who will be entering third grade as well.
If you want to prevent Summer Brain Drain and have a child that enjoys animals and science, I recommend purchasing Zoology for Kids too.
