Mother Nature is fickle! She doesn’t always provide us with rain when our yards, plants, and gardens need it. This summer, we couldn’t turn off the hose from heaven, with more rain than any of us would have liked in mid-summer! Now we’re into October, and find ourselves still needing to water our vegetable and perennial gardens. It’s important to have a good watering system when Mother Nature decides to have a mind of her own. This summer, Gardeners’ Supply Company provided us with a Snip-n-Drip soaker hose system to try out. The Snip-n-Drip soaker hose system allows you to cut custom lengths of soaker hose that can be placed right at the stems of your plants, giving root systems a slow release of nutrition right where they need it!

How the Snip-n-Drip Soaker System Works
The kit comes with everything you need to effectively water several beds – even several raised beds. What makes this system special is that you cut the lengths of both soaker hose and garden hose to fit your garden’s dimensions.

Snip-n-Drip Soaker System Includes:
- 50′ of 1/2″ soaker hose
- 25′ of 1/2″ garden hose,
- one faucet adapter
- one quick-connect coupler
- eight hose couplers
- one end cap
Set up was a cinch. The hardest part was measuring the pieces of hose to maximize our coverage. You simply snip the 2 types of hose to the lengths you need, connect the couplers and end cap, and you are ready to go!
Step 1: Cut Custom Lengths of Hoses

Step 2: Connect Hoses

Step 3: Lay Soaker Hoses Around Plant Roots

We love this system. Soaker hoses slow drip release of water means almost no run-off, meaning more water reaching the roots and less wasted water! Soaker hoses are better for plants, providing a more thorough watering. The fact that they waster less water also makes them easier on the pocketbook…definitely a win, win for us. Apparently, we’re not alone in our happiness with this product, because Gardener’s Supply Company’s website is loaded with positive reviews!
