Families with 4 or more children make for happier parents. At least that is what interviews of 950 parents in Australia by social science lecturer Bronwyn Harman suggest.
Is that possibly true?
Is chaos bliss?
Is satisfaction with life increased with the joy of parenting once you get four in your brood?
As you, my constant reader may know, I have two children. And they bring me joy in their successes and love, and a little bit of angst when I have to correct their behavior. Could I have been happier if I doubled them?
I would assume that there would be bliss in the chaos, that children would always have a playmate, and that life while raising children would certainly be all the more purposeful with twice the minds to teach and help grow.
Of course, we each only get one round in this life, and, I have two children and it’s very likely going to stay that way.
What do you think? Do you think families with 4+ children are happier? Are you one of those families?
