Ziploc VersaGlass Containers Product Review

According to research,  71% of all mothers with kids under the age of 18 juggle responsibilities in the workforce and home.  I am one of them.  As a working mom,  I must do meal planning ahead of time, or else, it would be a disaster.  I often make meals ahead and spread them out for multiple days.  I also make big batches of food and use the freeze, thaw, and heat up method a lot.  I am fortunate to have a family that doesn’t mind eating leftover food or a pizza on ‘Mom doesn’t feel like cooking” night.

The freeze, thaw, and heat up method I use requires lots of containers.  I have been known to insist that everyone should never heat up their food in plastics despite of the microwave safe logo on it.   I am also not a big fan of storing my food in plastic bags or containers for too long.  I’d rather spend the extra money on glass containers even though they take up more space in my kitchen cabinets.

Ziploc® VersaGlass™ Container

When I hear the brand Ziploc, the first thing that comes into my mind is they make disposable bags and containers with plastic material.  This year, Ziploc introduced their new products for busy moma like me.  Ziploc VersaGlass Containers are designed to go from the fridge/freezer,  to the microwave or oven (toaster oven excluded), and straight to the dinner table.  Just the way I like it.  It is a win win for me.  Safe glass material for microwaving and less dishes to wash.

Ziploc VersaGlass Containers. From the fridge, to the oven, to the table and to the dishwasher.

Ziploc VersaGlass Containers, which are dishwasher-safe, can take up to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (no lids, please).  They are made with durable tempered glass which is 50 percent stronger than the ordinary glass material.  The lids can be put on and removed easily.  My 7 year old can do it without a problem.

I have other brands glass containers in my kitchen.  Pyrex is what I have the most at home.  I found that the difference between Ziploc VersaGlass Containers and my Pyrex collection is their lids.   As you know,  Pyrex glass container is famous for their solid color lids.  You can see from the picture posted below this paragraph, Ziploc VersaGlass’ lids have the see-through portion in the middle.  This feature is especially helpful when I am marinating meat in it.  I can see from the top if I get all the meat evenly coated without having to open it.

Ziploc VersaGlass lids come with light colors.  When I store tomato-based food in it,  I often feel the need to double layer the container with either foil or plastic wrap to prevent staining.

The product I received for this review is called Ziploc VersaGlass Variety Pack.  The pack comes with 6 items in the box.  3 containers and 3 lids.   The pack includes including Small Round, 13 fluid ounces (1-1/2 cups); Medium Square, 32 fluid ounces (4 cups); and Large Square, 64 fluid ounces (8 cups)  glass containers with their corresponding lids.
The other plus point of Ziploc VersaGlass Container compared to its competitor’s brand (Pyrex) is that the Ziploc VersaGlass lids nest together to save space on storing and more organized, too.
