Akron Bible Church offers holiday baskets of groceries and toys for kids ages 12 and under for those in need.
Sign up 1-day only on December 3, 2013 from 12-4pm. They are taking first 50 applications for toy assistance and first 200 for food baskets. Distribution is on December 17 and 18, 2013

Proof of custody of child (Medicaid Card, Birth Certificate, or Social Security Card)

Akron Urban League Breakfast with Santa in Akron, Ohio
Akron Urban League offers low-income families Breakfast with Santa, kids receive a gift and picture with Santa. Sign-ups on a first call, first served basis for kids ages 12 and under.
Call 330-434-3101 beginning Monday, December 2, 2013 for your reservation – reservations required for Breakfast with Santa on December 14, 2013.
Other services offered include technology classes, emergency food, job training, work clothing, and more.

East Akron Neighborhood Development Corporation Holiday Assistance in 44305 or 44306
East Akron Neighborhood Development Corporation provides limited Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets for low-income seniors, individuals with disabilities, and families with children during the holiday season. They offer assistance to low-income households with kids ages 14 and under with gifts and toys through Toys for Tots program. First come, first served basis for up to 60 baskets. Must live in zip codes 44305 or 44306.

Copley Police Holiday Assistance in Copley, Fairlawn, and Bath, Ohio – Food Baskets, Toys, and Coats
Holiday Assistance for families in need in Copley, Fairlawn, and Bath residing in the Copley-Fairlawn School District. Families will receive food basket, hats, gloves, and coats. Older adults can receive a gift and visit from police officer.
Call police station at 666-4218 to request assistance or stop by the police department lobby. You can also apply online starting November 12, 2013. Applications must be in by December 13, 2013. After application is accepted, there is a brief mandatory interview.

Copley Outreach Center Service Holiday Assistance in Copley, Ohio – Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter Food Baskets
Copley Outreach Center Service offers special food baskets for low-income individuals and families in the Copley Fairlawn School District on major holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas (individual & families), and Easter. Offers special food baskets for low-income individuals and families without children for the Christmas holiday. Pre-registration for Thanksgiving Baskets ends on November 15th, 2011. Pre-registration for Christmas Baskets ends on December 15th, 2011. Must provide proof of address. Tuesday and Friday: 10:00am to 2:00pm
They also offer clothing, food pantry on Tuesdays and Fridays, and temporary financial aid.

Salvation Army Holiday Assistance in Akron, Ohio
The Salvation Army provides Holiday Assistance for people in need during the holidays. They Partner with Toys for Tots to provide gifts and toys for kids ages 14 and under, and offer holiday food baskets for households with or without children. Call the Social Service Helpline to request an appointment and be pre-screened as it is a case-by-case basis. Call 330-996-4255 Monday – Friday: 8am to 4pm
Must provide the following:
- PHOTO ID: Social Security Card AND Valid Drivers License or State Identification Card
- PROOF OF ALL CURRENT INCOME: Pay stubs for last 30 days, ODJFS printout, child support papers, SSI/SSD letters, Worker’s Comp statement, rent subsidy/utility allowance stubs. Note: A Health Card is not proof of income.
- PROOF OF ALL BILLS: Includes Lease/Mortgage papers, utilities, car payments, insurance payments, child care, any other bills
- PROOF OF ALL CHILDREN IN HOUSEHOLD: Must provide a Social Security card for all children or a printout from Job and Family Services with Social Security numbers listed for all children
- PROOF OF OTHER ADULTS IN HOUSEHOLD: Must provide either a photo ID or a Social Security card

Friendship Apostolic Church Holiday Assistance in Summit County and beyond (everyone welcome) – Toys and Clothes
Friendship Apostolic Church offers a one-day distribution of new and used toys and new and used clothing for all ages on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2013 from 9:30am to 1:00pm. Everyone is welcome, no restrictions, first come, first served.

- Proof of children in household (Birth Certificate, report card, or DJFS print out
Other services provided include children’s clothing, general clothing, and winter clothing.

Holiday Assistance for Military Families in Ohio
Our Adopt-A-Family program is for enlisted military families in need of holiday assistance in Ohio. Sponsors of families are required to provide $50-$100 for a holiday meal for the family, as well as $25-$75 per child for holiday gifts.
Requirements for this program:
- Active Duty
- E1-E6
- Currently residing in Ohio
- Willing to provide appropriate documentation (LES, ID, Deployment Orders (if currently deployed), Documentation of combat injury (if wounded).
- Have not participated in OH Ohio’s Adopt-A-Family program for more than 2 years.
- Able to describe why you are in need of assistance this year.
