One of the best places to buy cranberries is BJ’s. You can buy a huge bag of Massachusetts Cranberries for all your baking and cooking needs in a large 3lb bag for a little over $1/lb. Plus, you can buy everything else you need in the produce department, including organic food.
An entire bag of cranberries doesn’t even have to be used all at once, although with my recipe, you’ll want to make multiple batches! Don’t worry though if you can’t go through an entire bag, ripe cranberries last for up to 20 days in the refrigerator, or for up to a year in the freezer. I like to freeze a couple bags this time of year because my family enjoys cranberries in a number of recipes but cranberries aren’t sold year-round. The growing season is April to November, look for ripened cranberries that range from slightly opaque with a scarlet or fire-engine red color.

Fresh Cranberry Orange Relish Recipe
I was first introduced to this Fresh Cranberry Orange Relish when I married my husband. My mother-in-law served it at Thanksgiving and Christmas. Being new to the family, I wanted to try all of their traditional recipes, even though I had never liked cranberry sauce from a can, I never knew you could eat it fresh! I was hooked at the first bite and have been in love with cranberries ever since! This recipe includes easy-to-find fresh ingredients available at BJ’s.
This is an easy recipe to prepare ahead for all your holiday parties and dinners.
One of my favorite parts of this recipe is washing the cranberries. Aren’t they gorgeous?! Be sure to get a high quality brand of cranberries so you don’t have to discard soft berries. Out of my entire 3lb bag, I had just 10 berries that I discarded.
One bite and you and your family is sure to be fans of this Fresh Cranberry Orange Relish recipe too. Stop by BJ’s for all your recipe needs.
