One of the best places to buy cranberries is BJ’s. You can buy a huge bag of Massachusetts Cranberries for all your baking and cooking needs in a large 3lb bag for a little over $1/lb. Plus, you can buy everything else you need in the produce department, including organic food.
An entire bag of cranberries doesn’t even have to be used all at once, although with my recipe, you’ll want to make multiple batches! Don’t worry though if you can’t go through an entire bag, ripe cranberries last for up to 20 days in the refrigerator, or for up to a year in the freezer. I like to freeze a couple bags this time of year because my family enjoys cranberries in a number of recipes but cranberries aren’t sold year-round. The growing season is April to November, look for ripened cranberries that range from slightly opaque with a scarlet or fire-engine red color.
