Instructions
  1. Unroll dough into 2 long rectangles. Press 1 rectangle in bottom and 1/2 inch up sides of greased or sprayed 8-inch square (2-quart) glass baking dish; press perforations to seal.
  2. In small bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add egg; beat on low speed just until mixed.
  4. Fold in chocolate chips; spread over crust.
  5. Top with remaining rectangle of dough. Press out to edges of dish; pinch edges to seal with bottom crust.
  6. Drizzle with caramel topping.
  7. Bake at 375°F 18 to 22 minutes or until golden brown.
  8. Cool 1 hour on cooling rack.
  9. Cut into 3 rows by 3 rows to make 9 bars. Cut each bar diagonally into 2 triangles.Store covered in refrigerator.

This recipe is quick and easy to prepare.   Be sure to purchase Pillsbury Crescent Rolls for this recipe as I’ve found other brands aren’t quite a flaky in this recipe. Unroll the dough into 2 long rectangles. Set 1/2 aside. Press together the perforations into the bottom of a greased square baking dish. You can even use the Pillsbury Crescent Sheets to bypass sealing the perforations.

Beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth, add eggs. Fold in chocolate chips. Spread mixture over the dough and cover with remaining crescent roll dough. Drizzle with caramel topping. Bake at 375°F 18 – 22 minutes or until golden brown. Cool for 1 hour. Cut into 3 rows by 3 rows to make 9 bars. Cut each bar diagonally into 2 triangles. Enjoy! Store covered in refrigerator.
