Instructions
  1. Create Your Dipping Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together 1/4 cup San-J No Soy Tamari, rice vinegar, chili crunch (or your preferred substitute!), 1 teaspoon sesame oil, and a pinch of sugar if you like a hint of sweetness. Set this aside to let the flavors meld.
  2. Prep the Shrimp Filling: Place your shrimp into a food processor and pulse until it reaches a thick, paste-like consistency. If you don’t have a processor handy, you can finely mince the shrimp by hand until it’s nearly a paste. Fold in the minced garlic, chopped green onions, fresh ginger, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Wrap the Dumplings: Working with one rice paper sheet at a time, submerge it in warm water for about 4–5 seconds until pliable. Place 1–2 tablespoons of the shrimp mixture in the center. Fold the long sides over the filling, then tuck in the ends to create a secure seal. Set each completed dumpling on a tray while you finish the batch.
  4. Air Fry to Perfection: Lightly coat your air fryer basket with avocado oil spray. Arrange the dumplings in the basket, making sure they aren’t touching so the air can circulate (you may need to work in batches!). Give the tops of the dumplings a quick spritz of oil. Air fry at 380°F for 12–15 minutes, making sure to flip them halfway through (around the 6-minute mark) for that “stunning” all-over crunch.
  5. Serve and Enjoy: Plate them while they are nice and hot! Serve with your prepared dipping sauce and a sprinkle of sesame seeds for a gorgeous, restaurant-quality presentation.
