Affordable Stainless Steel Cookware by Oster

While at the International Home Show this year, I was able to check out new products by the well known company, Gibson. One such product was from their Oster brand, their Bradford 7 Piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set.  I have always wanted to make the switch to stainless steel cookware and with the introduction of an induction cooktop in our kitchen, it was now a necessity. I was happy to review their Bradford cookware set below.

Oster Stainless Steel Cookware

Oster carries several stainless steel cookware sets, including the Bradford 7 Piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set that comes with 1 frying pan, 2 sauce pans, 1 dutch oven pot, and 3 lids – making it a 7 piece set.  The stainless steel body is 0.5mm with a 4.0 mm aluminum impact bonded base. It is sturdy without being heavy.

I like that the stainless steel cookware has easy to grip and stay-cool silicone handles – not found with many stainless steel cookware collections.  I also like that the 3 glass lids are venting.  The mirrored polished interior and exterior has kept my cookware as shiny as when I first opened them nearly a month ago.

Oster Stainless Steel Cookware Frying Pan

The Stainless Steel Cookware Frying Pan measures at 9.5″ round, the perfect size of daily family cooking.

Just so you get an idea of the size, below is a picture of 1 lb ground beef browning in the frying pan. It is an average size frying pan. It cooks very evenly, without any hot spots or sticking.

Although I try really hard to stay away from processed boxed foods, sometimes on busy nights, it’s what we do. Below is the frying pan full of a Mexican rice recipe with prepackaged rice with seasoning, 1 lb browned ground beef, 1 can tomatoes, and a diced green pepper. There is plenty of room for this recipe while it simmers under the vented lid.

Oster Stainless Steel Dutch Oven with Lid

The Stainless Steel Dutch Oven is a 5 quart size, perfect for spaghetti, soups, and other recipes in larger quantities. The lid for the dutch oven is the same lid that fits on the frying pan, which saves room in kitchen cabinets. Again, the silicone handles make everything easier, especially as you pour the water out to strain the food, like with spaghetti.

Oster Stainless Steel Saucepans

The Oster Stainless Steel Cookware Set comes with 2 saucepans with lids. Below is the smaller of the two, the 1 quart size. This is the perfect size for warming up a jar of spaghetti sauce and other smaller portions.

The second saucepan is a 2 quart size, this is a great in-between size. I find myself using this saucepan most often for cooking vegetables, sauces, etc.  Even the handle on the venting lids have the silicone handles, to protect yourself while removing it. I also like that the tempered glass lids make it easy to keep an eye on the food while it is cooking.

Cooking with Stainless Steel Cookware on Induction Cooktop

If you have or are considering an induction cooktop, you should know that you will need stainless steel or cast iron cookware or it won’t work. There are so many options in stainless steel cookware, some costing a good sum of money.  I have been cooking with this Oster set for several weeks now and have been completely pleased.

Years ago, I purchased a different brand of stainless steel cookware because I had heard of the health benefits of cooking with stainless steel rather than nonstick. My experience was terrible, everything burned to the bottom of the cookware. I ended up going back to my non-stick cookware. I feared the same with the Oster brand and can honestly say that I’ve a very good experience and am so glad that I have switched to stainless steel cookware.

Buy Oster Bradford 7 Piece Stainless Steel Cookware Set

Another great reason to buy the Oster Stainless Steel Cookware Set is because of the price tag, it is such an affordable set.

This was not a paid post. My own opinions were used based on my perceptions and experience. Thank you to Gibson for the products for review.
