#FuelYourSummer at Kroger with 2X Fuel Points

#FuelYourSummer at Kroger with 2X Fuel Points every weekend through July 28, 2013. During the 2X Fuel Points Weekends, you earn 2 fuel points per $1 spent on groceries on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays in July! (Normally, it is 1 point per $1 spent in groceries.) I received a gift card to facilitate this post and to offer as a giveaway.

Growing up in Central Ohio, my family always shopped at Kroger. There are many Kroger stores throughout Ohio, however the closest ones to Akron, Ohio are in Mansfield, Sandusky, and Port Clinton, Ohio. Since we blog about great travel destinations in these areas and have readers throughout Ohio. I wanted to bring this fantastic Summer promotion to you.

For every 100 fuel points, you get 10¢ off per gallon of fuel for 1 fill-up of up to 35 gallons at Kroger or participating Shell Stations. You could earn up to $1 off per gallon of fuel when you earn 1,000 fuel points at Kroger.

Summer Trip to Hocking Hills, Ohio

Recently, my family just took a trip to the Hocking Hills, Ohio area for my cousin’s wedding. It was a beautiful barn wedding in Lancaster, Ohio. Since it is a 3 hours drive, we decided to spend a long weekend in the area, taking in the sights.

There are Kroger stores and gas stations all over the central and southern Ohio. Saving money on fuel for even short Ohio getaways really makes a big difference. It stretches fun dollars further! I would much rather spend the money I saved on fun activities, restaurants, and souvenirs than gasoline!

I wasn’t able to take advantage of the the fuel points but it would have been really nice to pay $2.29 a gallon instead of $3.29 a gallon if I had 1,000 fuel points!  Shopping for weekend BBQs and just regular weekly groceries on the weekends is not only convenient but so worth it when you are getting extra awards for it! lp_hero_fuel

As a mom, I try to be aware of where my family spends money and ways to save money. I consider money saved with coupons as money earned, not just saved. When taking a trip to Columbus or anywhere that we’ll be fueling and refueling and refueling, the price of traveling goes up pretty quickly. It’s nice that Kroger is rewarding their customers with 2X fuel points.
