My 3 year old daughter loves everything girly. She loves playing dress up and she loves being just like mommy. I have been a bit reluctant to put nail polish on her because she does still put her hands in her mouth at times. When I have used it in the past, I’ve always taken it off the same night. I just recently discovered Piggy Paint and have to tell you about it!

About Piggy Paint

Piggy Paint was started by another concerned mom, Melanie. Melanie was concerned about her kids putting the chemicals from traditional finger nail polish into her kids mouths, plus the fumes were just too much to handle. She created Piggy Paint, a water based formula with natural ingredients. Piggy Paint does not contain formaldehyde, toluene, phthalates, Bisphenol A, ethyl acetate or acetone. It is non-flammable, contains no toxic chemicals, no foul odors, and is hypo allergenic. Piggy Paint is as natural as mud! They recently received the Excellence Award from Safbaby.com, they are approved as a Vendor of Mom approved-child tested products!!

Tori Spelling had Piggy Paint at her daughter’s 1st Birthday Party. What a great idea! Not only is this a great, fun activity for girls at birthday parties but it doubles as their take-home gift item. What girl wouldn’t love this?

We received the Girls Rule! Bright Shimmery Purple Polish and the Nail Polish Remover. My 3 year old daughter was so excited to open the box and see girly stuff!

picture of Piggy Paint and RemoverThere are more than a dozen colors to choose from as well as gift packs that any girl would love! And moms can feel confident that they are not putting harsh chemicals on their daughter’s nails.

Elizabeth loves to get her nails done. There was no odor, not at all. This is great news for those of us who are sensitive to harsh smells. The Piggy Paint takes a little longer to dry since it is all natural ingredients, however not too much longer. They recommend applying 2-3 thin layers and then using a hair dryer for 1 minute on the nails. This seemed to do the trick and my daughter did not mind at all.

She was able to get about 2 days out of the nail polish before we saw chipped polish and had to remove it. Kids are tough on nail polish and I am satisfied with this time frame.

Piggy Paint Nail Polish Remover Review

The Piggy Paint Nail Polish Remover is great for kids because once again, it is safer than traditional polish removers. It is Low Odor, Made from natural ingredients, contains no Acetone, is Hypoallergenic, and safe for the environment because it is Biodegradable. The product works but not as quickly as traditional polish remover. The bottle states to soak the nails for 30 seconds. With older kids, this might be easier. With a 3 year old, it was easier just to apply and rub. The polish did come off. I would trade the awful smell and chemicals of traditional polish removers for the little extra time it took for me to use the Piggy Paint Nail Polish Remover.

Ok, another product I want to review for my Special Needs resource blog! I wrote a post last summer about using nail polish for therapy and a teaching tool and at the time I could not find any natural children’s nail polish – a concern since some Special Needs kids can put their fingers in their mouths so much.

    Thank you!

My god daughter would love the Candy Coated color, she is so into anything sparkly and pink right now, But then what little girl isn’t?

I think it’s great to have a safe, non-toxic (non-stinky) fingernail polish for little girls. I love the company’s slogan. Too cute.

  6. Lynsi says:

I’ve been dying to try Piggy Paint on my little girl, Caroline. There are so many great colors, but I think my favorite would be “Forever Fancy”. Love the idea of the low odor nail polish remover, too. Plus, it comes from Missouri (my home state) so it’s gotta be great! 🙂

  7. Jessica P. says:

My favorite thing is the nail polish remover. I hate using nail polish remover because of the way it smells so I would love to try their nail polish remover…

  8. Shannon F. says:

What a GREAT idea! Just the smell alone of regular nail polish indicates its toxicity, what a great alternative for our daughters. Thanks for the great review.

  9. crystal says:

I think that this is a great company and a perfect product because kids often put their fingers in their mouth. I lie the pretty Twinkle Toes color and also think that the Sleepover Black is cool;)

  10. Angie says:

This looks like fun. I love the name and idea. My daughter is too young yet, but my nieces would love this and the names of them (mac and cheese).

  11. Merrie L. says:

I think it’s wonderful to find a product that has no harmful chemicals and non-flammable — yet allowing you to have the color and splash you want!

My 4 yr old daughter loves having her nails painted and anything girly. She loves to dress up. This would be a perfect gift for her. And as a Mother I love the fact that it is a water based polish with natural ingredients. 🙂
