I enjoy promoting products from Ohio, especially when they are from the Akron, Ohio area. When Blue Met Egg is a children’s book on friendship, written by Lindsay Ward, a local Peninsula, Ohio children’s book author and illustrator. It is exciting to see such talent come from the Akron, Ohio area.
When Blue Met Egg Review
My kids have really enjoyed When Blue Met Egg. It is a really cute story about a bird doing the right thing and then developing an unlikely friendship with “egg”. The story begins in the cold winter of New York where Blue, a blue bird is nestled in his nest only to discover Egg popping right into his nest.

Blue flies all over New York city, trying to find Egg’s mother. He continues to fly through Central Park with no luck. I enjoyed the illustrations of New York throughout the book. It is a fun way for kids to learn a little about a real city. The illustrations are great and one page even folds out into 3 pages.

In the end, Blue couldn’t find Egg’s mother, so Blue decided to take care of Egg. What a responsible and selfless choice. Weeks and months pass while the friendship grows. Until one Spring morning when…. I can’t reveal the ending, it’s too cute! When Blue Met Egg is a delightful children’s book on friendship to be enjoyed by kids ages 3 and up.
