Small Business Saturday is this Saturday, November 24, 2012! What are you doing? I have always wanted to check out the First & Main Shops in Hudson, Ohio. I have heard such good things about this shopping area but have never been able to check it out. It looks like they have a lot of locally owned shops – as well as the national brands. It looks so picturesque.
I will be going shopping with my husband and kids to shop for Christmas presents for our relatives. We don’t normally spend the day checking out only locally owned shops, so it should be an interesting experience. I think it is good to use days like this as a learning opportunity for kids. There are so many reasons we should shop small businesses on Small Business Saturday and all year long.
I love gift shops, the Epiphany store looks like a cool place to check out for unique gifts for people on my Christmas list. It seems very interesting. Maybe we’ll find something there for our parents, something unique.
Beth wrote a review on Nicky Nicole last year. It looks like a great store that my daughter Elizabeth will enjoy! I’ll have to keep a close eye on what she likes and have my husband go to the next store while I do some Christmas shopping – the sneaky way!
One shop that I want to check out and I know my daughter will appreciate too is the b. lux boutique. It looks like a totally girly place with scarves, jewelry, handbags and all the extras that make an outfit pop. My daughter will love it – even if it is geared toward women, not kids. Plus, it is so cool that it is owned and operated by two local women.
I have heard great things about My Little Red Wagon in Hudson, Ohio. It looks like they offer unique toys that you can’t find anywhere else. We’ll shop for my nieces and nephews while taking notes on what our kids like – that is the best way to really know what your kids want for Christmas instead of relying on what they see commercials for on TV. Have them check out the toys at a toy store to see what they really think of it.
I have actually been to Heather’s Heat & Flavor once before. They have absolutely every seasoning and sauce you could ever want. This is perfect for the chef or grilling king on your shopping list. My husband will love this store since he likes to spice up food, adding all kinds of flavor.
It looks like First & Main has a lot of restaurants to choose from too. We’ll have to see what looks good while we are there.
