Like I said, I shop at Acme at least twice a week. I do my big weekly shopping on Mondays and then run in for more fresh produce and things we run out of on Friday. I also like to catch each week’s grocery deals that start every Thursday! I have always shopped at Acme Fresh Market my adult life – they have been my primary grocery store for so many reasons. I love supporting Acme because it is a LOCAL family owned and operated business since 1891, you don’t stay in business and grow like Acme has if they aren’t doing a lot of things right! I love their easy-to-navigate, clean stores and how personable they are to their customers. I know many of my local store by name and they know my name. You don’t get that at larger chain stores!
Plus, I love Acme because they support other local businesses, carrying hundreds of products made and grown right here in Ohio! If you caught me earlier on Facebook Live, you’ll see some of my family’s favorite LOCAL brands that Acme carries!
Have you noticed the LOCAL OHIO! signs at your local Acme store? They just put them out recently to make it easier than ever to buy local. I also love that they have a little story about the business and what part of Ohio they are from too.

I want to share with you some of my favorite local products that my family enjoys from Acme. As you may know if you have followed my blog for long, my kids are Type One Diabetic which means we watch carbs. We don’t normally enjoy ‘regular’ soda unless they are experiencing a low blood sugar – which isn’t always fun anyway. However, if their blood sugar is around 100 and there is food in their bellies, we treat ourselves to a Norka Sparkling beverage. It’s made in Akron, Ohio! It’s lower in sugar and made with pure cane sugar instead of high fructose corn syrup which gives this ‘soda’ a delicious, more natural flavor. We like root beer and orange the best. I highly recommend treating yourself this week!
We love Acme’s new popcorn blends! I didn’t know until recently that it is actually a Wadsworth, Ohio company called American Classic Snack Co. The flavor combinations are sooo good – we like the buckeye and Chicago blends best! I like supporting a Wadsworth, Ohio business but also that to honor their son, Sam, they donate a portion of the profit from each bag to a scholarship that will help fund the education of a high school senior determined to pursue a career in Special Education. 
You’ve had a quarter pounder burger before, I’m sure. But have you had a quarter pound cookies??!! Yes! Fat T’s Cookies are 1/4 lb of chewy cookie goodness made right here in Akron! Treat your family to this special cookie during a long hike!
I had no idea there were so many Italian sauce companies right here in Ohio but there are! Acme carries Little Italy from Cleveland, DeViti’s from Akron, MID’s from Navarre, Dei Fratelli from Northwood, Ohio. Trust me, if you upgrade to one of these sauces for your next pasta night, you won’t look back. Fresh sauce made in smaller batches makes a world of difference in flavor!
Every single department at Acme has local products to choose from. I try to purchase 2 new local products per month to try them out. My family loves trying new products and we like finding new favorites like Hartzler milk. Oh, you won’t believe the difference in the taste fresh,natural milk from Wooster, Ohio. It’s so good! We really enjoy the strawberry flavor! I started taking it with us when we have picnics at the park last summer – keeping it cool in my freezer bag. 
We are long-time customers of Smith’s brand – for all their dairy products. I’ve blogged and created recipes for Smith’s for years now. Fresh just taste better. Local, right nearby in Orrville, Ohio, it’s fresh and on conveniently on the shelves at my favorite Acme locations.
You can’t get any more local in flavor than Buckeye candies! Waggoner Chocolates is from North Canton, Ohio – so very local – and they have the creamiest buckeye recipe around! They are individually wrapped so they are easy to share in a lunch box or anywhere. I actually gave a bag of these delicious candies to my friends out at Disney studios on my last Disney blogger trip and they loved it! Ohioans take for granted the delicious peanut butter and chocolate combination but most people in other states don’t know what an Ohio Buckeye is! So sad!
