The Eggishorn Bamboo Mattress Protector is a great option on the market. It is very soft and even though it’s 100% waterproof, it’s breathable too. I really like that it is hypoallergenic so it is safe for even people with sensitivity. My mother and I are both very sensitive to smell. This mattress protector is good for even us – the protection layer feels like plastic but it is a TPU coating that is vinyl free and non-toxic. It’s safe with direct contact with your skin – even pregnant women and baby’s skin. I’ve always found it curious how people can sleep on toxic products! I like that Eggishorn is a safer brand.
The fit is really good too. Unlike some mattress protectors that ride up on the sides – especially after a few washes, this mattress protector stays put. The ‘pocket shade’ or sides of the mattress protector are deep so it fits a small mattress that is only 6″ deep to a full 18″ depth. By pulling the string tight, you’ll always have the perfect fit.
We are very pleased with this protector. It’s not plastic and noisey like other 100% waterproof mattress pads, it stays fit on the bed, and protects against spills or pet accidents (thankfully we haven’t had one but I’m confident that the mattress will be protected if it happens!).
