Timeless Quality Jackets for Fun Outdoors and Back-to-School

Lands' End Jackets for kids review

The mornings are starting to get chilly in Ohio. It is time to pick out the perfect jacket for your children now before Fall and cooler weather sets in.  Having a jacket that they love encourages them to play outdoors longer! Playing outdoors is so important for our kids, we have to equip them with warm jackets to continue outdoor play into the Fall and Winter months.

Timeless Quality Jackets for Fun Outdoors

My kids have been really enjoying their new Lands’ End jackets already for back to school on the extra cool mornings and evenings. It is keeping them outside playing longer!

My daughter is wearing the Lands’ End Girls Stormer Jacket in the Regiment Navy Hearts print. This lightweight jacket will keep her warm through Fall and Winter with its “warmer” rating, keeping her comfortable between 0-30°.  The water-resistant and wind-resistant exterior protects her from rain, snow, and wind while the 100 grams insulation in the body of the jacket will keep her warm.

The elastic waist keeps the jacket snug to her body, not allowing cool air inside. The 3-piece hood with elastic sides offers extra warmth and protection from the elements with a secure fit. My daughter loves the SnowGuard™ wrist cuffs for added warmth and coolness factor – once the snow starts flying, it will keep out the cold and snow too.

This is a great jacket for outdoor play and back-to-school for this Fall through Winter. It is also available in a pink Raspberry Pink Geo style. You can’t beat the quality of Lands’ End, it is as timeless as their styles.  Backed by their Guaranteed. Period.® policy, you can buy this jacket with confidence knowing it is going to last well after your child out-grows it! You can purchase the Girls Stormer Jacket in size 2T – big girl size 16 starting at $67 on the Lands’ End website.

My son is at the age where he only wants a light jacket until wintertime. He is wearing the Lands’ End Boys Navigator Packable Rain Jacket. As a true outdoor kid, this jacket is perfect for playing outside, even on rainy days!

Unlike other rain jackets, this rain jacket is made with a tear-resistant ripstop nylon that will keep out rain while keeping up with your boy’s outdoor adventures.  My son loves that this jacket folds into self-storing left pocket so he can keep it with him at all times in his school backpack, outdoor gear backpack, and with him on camping trips. He can’t wait to take it with him to summer camp next year instead of the silly poncho I packed him this year. 🙂

The 3-piece hood with elastic sides keeps the rain out while staying secure on. I purchased a size bigger for my son so that he can wear it longer. Plus, he can add a fleece underneath to keep him warmer as the weather starts to get colder. My son would much rather have a light jacket with him either to wear or pack in his bag and wear a fleece than wear a heavy jacket. If your son is like this too, I suggest this great rain jacket, available in sizes 2T- big boy size 20 starting at $27 on the Lands’ End website.

I love the quality of Lands’ End jackets and clothing that is backed by their Guaranteed. Period.® policy. Washed, worn, even embroidered, return it at any time for an exchange or full refund if you are not fully satisfied. They stand behind their products which makes me trust their products and my purchase.

Playing Outside is Good for Kids

Is your child getting the 60 minutes of physical daily activity that they should? It is recommended that kids get 60 minutes of moderate or vigorous aerobic physical activity every day. The American Academy of Pediatrics states, “If prevention is the key to reversing obesity trends, then encouraging outdoor play for children could be an important component of a comprehensive strategy.”

Studies show that kids that play outside “engage in higher levels of physical activity while playing outdoors” than indoors. Playing outdoors is a great opportunity for families to connect, have fun, and make memories. Consider activities like hiking, fishing, camping, caving, and ziplining.
