Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of reviewing a variety of Ford vehicles on family trips. We’ve driven the Ford Explorer on the beach at the Outer Banks, we’ve traveled to the East Coast getting amazing gas mileage with the Fusion Hybrid, we had a blast touring Lake Erie region with the sporty Ford Edge, and around town with the Ford Escape. It has been so fun!
I recently had an invitation to take the new 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum on the ultimate road trip through Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park on the Ford Explorer Platinum Adventure Tour! Can you imagine a better location to test-drive this iconic SUV combination of comfort, performance, and luxury?!
The Ford Explorer Platinum is the ultimate in luxury, I can honestly say that after 12 hours of driving this vehicle, I was just comfortable the last hour as the first. I had the chance to meet the Ford Explorer Platinum Interior Design Manager, Rob who gave me a tour of the vehicle in all it’s beauty.
Are you as excited as I am that Ford has delivered a luxury vehicle built for families? Until now, I never considered Ford for my family because I didn’t think there would be enough room for my family of 4. With the spacious backseats and 3rd seating, Ford Explorer Platinum is on the top of our list for our next vehicle!
I had the unique opportunity to ride the camera crew for my Ford Explorer Platinum Adventure Tour. I was able to see just how they capture footage, images, and inspiration for the Ford commercials we all see. It was a learning experience that I’ll never forget. Who knows, maybe I’ll appear in a portion of a commercial someday and I’ll be famous! 😉
Montana is gorgeous, it certainly is more beauty that one can ever take in. The landscape is absolutely breathtaking, you can hardly take in such majestic beauty. We started our drive into Yellowstone National Park next to the Montana River, the same river in the movie, “A River Runs Through It”.
It is hard to capture the simplistic beauty of this river but I tried. This is me driving across the bridge!
Along the drive, we were able to spot wildlife – to my utmost joy! I was like a little kid when I spotted wildlife like the mother and baby elks below!
I also spotted the bison, aka buffalo first!
Later, in the Grand Teton National Park, we ran into a whole herd of bison!
We stopped to capture video of the bison outside of Grand Teton National Park, and of course, the beautiful Ford Explorer Platinum.
We drove from sun-up to sun-set, about 12 hours in all through Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park. We saw amazing, stunning beauty the entire time. I can honestly say that I was comfortable the entire trip. I’m sure the heated, cooled, multi-contoured and massaging seats had a little something to do with that! Usually after a few hours into a road trip, I get tired, uncomfortable and ready for a break, but not during this trip.
Although we didn’t do off-roading like the image below, we did travel through highly changing elevations, curves, and hills. The 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum provided a smooth ride through it all.
I had the most exhilarating time driving the new 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum through Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park and can’t wait to go back with my family. The more I visit the West, the more I want to Explore More with my family, there is so much beauty in the USA.
The 2016 Ford Explorer Platinum is all-inclusive, providing you all of the luxury at the price of $50,305. In this vehicle, you’ll enjoy the interior comforts of the Limited series with the performance of the Explorer Sport. This 3-row SUV is made for the family that wants to explore more, in comfort and style with powerful V6 engine, smart driver-assist technologies, premium 500-watt Sony audio system, with an interior wrapped in leather.
This Ford SUV is in Ford Showrooms now!
