Ambassador of Fun Playing

As a Backyard Discovery Brand Ambassador of Fun, we were asked to take a picture of our family with our Patriot Playset. Check out our bio on the Backyard Discovery website. Below is a picture of our whole family, including the dog on our playset. This is actually a picture that represents most days and evenings at our home. Of course we don’t look quite so posed and the dog is never in the playhouse!

It is so nice to have a place to retreat to as a family, in the evening especially. We spend most evenings playing with our kids on the playset.

Fun things to do while swinging

Elizabeth especially loves the swings. She’ll swing and swing and swing! Tonight, I was pushing her on the swing for quite a while.  I like to take the time while they are swinging to talk with them, I have a captive audience. I also use the time to do fun learning activities. Tonight we sang our ABCs as loud as we could, it was fun!

We also worked on counting. For a 3 year old, I’m impressed at how far she can count. I’m sure a lot has to do with her hearing her big brother count. We did simple repeat after me counting tonight. With every push on the swing, I would count and she would count after me. I thought we were doing pretty good at 50 but she wanted to continue! We counted to 100. I know it will be a long while before she can count to 100 on her own but just counting aloud and having fun with it has to be a good thing, right?

We have had our playset since April and the kids have not lost any interest. It is a part of the normal everyday routine, in a good way. I continue to be impressed with the quality and appearance of the Backyard Discovery Patriot playset as well.

Outside Exploring Fun for Kids

While we are out in the evening, we explore nature. Elijah is always finding a toad, salamander, grass hopper, cricket, worm, and bugs. We let him keep them for the evening and release them before we go inside, he’s real good about that. He loves animals, always talking about when he grows up, he wants to have his own zoo! I’m always amazed at how kids naturally love to explore the outdoors. With each new discovery comes easy and fun ways to learn about the found object.

This was not a paid post. My own opinions were used based on my perceptions and experience. Thank you to Backyard Discovery who supplied the product for review and the ongoing relationship with AkronOhioMoms.com.
