LEGO Games are the world’s first collection of games that you build, play and change.  You can even change the rules and Dice configurations. This is the year that my kids are finally old enough to have fun with LEGO building blocks. My husband and I are excited too, as you never outgrow LEGO blocks!

I was thrilled to be able to review one of the Hottest Kids Toys this Christmas, the new LEGO Games. Have you seen them? Not only are they made of high quality LEGO brand blocks, but they offer a fun game for 2-4 players, and very reasonably priced. Let me introduce to you the LEGO Lave Dragon Game.

Hands On Review of LEGO Lave Dragon Game

As you can see above, this LEGO game comes with everything you need to build the strong Lava Dragon volcano, 1 buildable LEGO Dice, 1 rule booklet, 1 building instruction booklet, and 4 LEGO microfigures. Unlike other games, with LEGO games, the fun starts with set-up.

With Lava Dragon, prove you are the bravest knight of all by being the first one to summon the dragon from the top of the volcano. With the LEGO Dice no two games of Lava Dragon are ever the same.

I must admit, I am saving this game for my 6 year old son for Christmas. For the review, my daughter and I had some good “preview fun”. :)  This game is intended for ages 7 and up, however with adult participation, younger kids can enjoy it too.

I’m sure it took us a little while longer than a 7 year old with fast moving hands but we had fun assembling the game. The instructions are so simple, even mom a kid can put it together with the no-reading necessary directions.

Seeing a LEGO creation start to come to life is exciting for both kids and adults. Starting out with a pile of blocks and turning it into a fun game is an accomplishment. My daughter was so proud of herself as she helped me put the Lava Dragon volcano together. I can see this as a fun family night game, first assembling the LEGO creation and then enjoy playing with it. My kids love to take their creations made out of blocks with them and play with it long after they are assembled. The LEGO games are just another way to enjoy your creation.

How to play LEGO Lava Dragon Game

Once assembled, the real action starts with the LEGO Lava Dragon game. The aim of the game is to be the first knight to climb to the top of the volcano and summon the lava dragon.  The game comes with a dice that you add movement squares to. Each time you roll the dice, you get to move your knight up one step toward the volcano. Your knight can move one step for each movement square on the LEGO dice. You can move both horizontally or up the volcano. Once your knight gets to the highest point, your knight gets to ride the lava dragon and lie off to victory!

Buy LEGO Lava Dragon Game

This was not a paid post. My own opinions were used based on my perceptions and experience. Thank you to LEGO who provided the products for review through Flashpoint PR.
