How to get kids to use their imaginations

Playing on a Backyard Discovery playground is more than swinging, playing in a sandbox, and going down a slide. A Backyard Discovery Playset is the backdrop for your kids imagination. You might be amazed at what kids can dream up and become when they can physically explore and pretend. In a previous post, my kids were fighting the bad aliens on the good Patriot Ship.

With the capture of a toad, a new story unfolds…

The good knights have to save and protect the prince who has been turned into a toad.

It’s not that easy to protect the Toad Prince when the bad knights are storming the castle. The bad knights put the prince in the dungeon (sand box). It’s up to the kids to protect the prince as they transport him up the stairs, down the slide, into the sandbox, and finally escape via the swings! Don’t worry, in our kids’ stories, the good guys always win! They are all in the castle’s tower with the saved Toad Prince!

Forget the TV, video games, and “educational toys”; Invest in a playground. Your kid’s imagination and creativity will grow in great strides. It is also helpful to expose your kids to kids of different ages in play settings for great interactions and creativity. Giving your kids tools to use their imaginations such as a playground, sandbox, and the assurance that it is OK to get dirty when you play is the best gift you can give them. More on letting your kids get dirty later…

This was not a paid post. My own opinions were used based on my perceptions and experience. Thank you to Backyard Discovery who supplied the product for review and the ongoing relationship with Check out the great selection of playsets from Backyard Discovery at
