Just the mention of Melissa & Doug toys gets me excited. Their toys are always unique, fun, and educational. With Summer around the corner, it’s time to shop for fun outdoor toys. I know my kids’ outdoor toys from last year are mostly lost or broken. Kids play rough outside, which is a good thing. I’m excited about Melissa & Doug’s new Outdoor Fun & Games. I’m sure you will be too once you get a preview from AOM. These are perfect Easter Basket options, birthday gifts, or just a fun surprise for Spring and Summer fun!
Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Toys Review
The new Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Toys is all about exploring and enjoying the outdoors with fun products that make the ordinary extra fun! Check out their selection of Bubble Fun, Sandy Play, Playhouses, Tents, Chairs, Gardening Tools, Water toys, Discovering Nature, Outdoor Clothing, Fun and Games, Picnic, Camping, and Sleepover Fun.
We had the opportunity to review $50 worth of Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Toys (as you will too if you win the Giveaway below). $50 buys a LOT of outdoor toys! My kids and I sorted through their website and chose the below as our favorites, although I’m certain that the Easter Bunny might have a couple more items in their Easter Baskets this year too. (wink, wink) When I get to see what my kids really want, and it is affordable, I buy it ahead for special holidays. It is so much better than waiting until the last minute and then guessing what they really want the most.
Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Froggy Ring Toss Review
The Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Froggy Ring Toss has been lots of fun for my kids. When we received this product to review, it was still too cold to go outside to play. My kids asked everyday when we could play this game. My 4 year old daughter tried to make a make-shift “ground” for the orange worms so she could try to toss the rings on it.
Once my kids finally got to go outside, they had a terrific time with the Froggy Rings. They were cheering for themselves. Look at Elizabeth’s look of disbelief and satisfaction after she threw the ring onto the worm stick. Elijah had just as much fun! What I liked about this game is that you can play it alone or with other kids. I thought they would play with it like horseshoes, taking turns on the worm stakes. They choose to each take their 2 rings and worm and play alone. Let me tell you, this was genius on their part because they had fun and there was no fighting! 🙂
I will introduce the idea of playing together, especially when we have more than the 2 of them playing with the Froggy Toss. It would be a great playdate or party game for kids.

Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Seaside Sidekicks Sand Cupcake Set Review
My kids love playing in the sand. Elizabeth loves to play pretend kitchen so I knew that the Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Seaside Sidekicks Sand Cupcake Set would be perfect for her. With this 12 piece set, she can bake sand cupcakes, decorate them, add different tops to them, and serve up only the best of the best.
We love our Backyard Discovery Playground with the sand box. After a rough summer last year of sand getting thrown out of the sandbox even though we implemented the “Sand stays in the sandbox” rule! We need to add some sand this spring. Elizabeth couldn’t wait to get out to play with her new sand toys. They mold really well and it just a really fun concept for sand toys. It’s a new twist on building sand castles.
We love creative play at our home and these new toys have offered another way to play in the sand.

Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Clicker Crab Scoop Review
You can never have enough shovels in a sand box, the Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Clicker Crab Scoop not only does the job but is completely adorable as well. Elizabeth was excited to have another shovel/scoop to play with. It seems well-made and sturdy, unlike some we’ve had in the past from other brands.

Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Bollie the ladybug Kickball and Scootin’ Turtle Kickball Review
Last Summer, I realized that the cheap plastic balls that are easily spotted at grocery stores and other retail stores are not kickballs. My kids are rough, like most, and need a real kickball. I am happy to have found not only a kickball made of durable rubber but ones with fun character, the Melissa & Doug Sunny Patch Bollie the ladybug Kickball and Scootin’ Turtle Kickball.
I thought about just getting one because there were several designs that would suit both boys and girls well. However, I thought this was a fight worth avoiding! My kids love playing ball, so having their own has been just perfect. We haven’t had many warm days yet this Spring, and none without a soggy yard so our balls have remained inside. That hasn’t stopped my kids from having fun with them! We’ll have a great time playing catch, kicking the balls, and throwing the balls once it warms up a bit.
