Tiny is the new big when it comes to building blocks. Nanoblocks are micro-sized building blocks for kids ages 8+ and adults. These tiny micro-sized building blocks allow you to create detailed structures that fit in the palm of your hand.
The smaller the blocks, the better the detail.
They are the perfect size for putting on display in your office at work or at home. LEGO fans everywhere can appreciate the added detail Nonoblocks offer while not taking up huge amounts of space while assembling or putting on display.
We received Nonoblocks to facilitate this post.Nonoblocks come in a variety of kits including animals, musical instruments, famous landmarks and buildings, vehicle, and more.
We were able to check out the Nanoblock Steam Locomotive 4-4-0, a detailed stem locomotive build wiht over 1,000 micro-sized building blocks! This 1,000+ piece kit has amazing detail and will be beautiful on display on a book shelf. As you can see below, the kit comes with all the pieces in zip lock style bags by color. This makes it easy to find pieces needed and stay organized. Since the pieces are so small (smallest is 4mmX4mmX5mm), it is important to build on a flat surface and stay organized. It comes with a simple pictorial instruction sheet to assemble the locomotive. There are few words, so paying attention to details within the picture drawings is all you need.
As you can see, the pieces are super tiny! I thought LEGO bricks were small when my son went from Mega Bloks, Nanoblocks are the next level in building blocks for construction enthusiasts! As Nanoblocks says,”the bigger you get, the smaller your blocks should be.”
Nanoblocks feel very much like LEGO bricks, although must smaller. The hard shiny plastic feels very similar to bricks. The nanoblocks connect together securely when pushed together – they don’t snap together like bricks. However, the top peg design is very similar to the look and feel of LEGO bricks.
Nanoblocks take time to assemble as each piece is so small, however there is a challenge and satisfaction in delicately assembling a detailed piece of art! It is a great way to enhance your fine motor skills as well!
We are still working on our locomotive Nanoblock creation, however, below is what the finished product will look like – and it’ll fit in the palm of a hand!
Nanoblocks are the latest in building blocks for older boys, teens, college kids, and grown ups who still like to have fun! They are the perfect size to put on display anywhere as they don’t take up any space and are so detailed that they become a decorative item even.
