Play-Doh Mega Fun Factory Playset

We were at Toys R Us last week, stocking up on BOGO Play-Doh when my kids noticed the Play-Doh Mega Fun Factory Playset. They really wanted it but of course we are not buying toys right now as Christmas is around the corner! I was beyond thrilled when I was contacted to review the Play-Doh Mega Fun Factory Playset by Hasbro. This is one of the most exciting looking Play-Doh playsets that I’ve seen.

My kids have always liked playing with Play-Doh. We have about every color of Play-Doh available, their favorite is Sprinkles, which came with the PLAY-DOH Magic Swirl Ice Cream Shoppe. We have a nice collection of molds and other accessories too. Play-Doh is the kind of gift that is perfect for every age, above 2 that is. It inspires creativity, is fun, and even helps develop fine motor skills. If  you don’t know what to give as a gift to a child, you can never go wrong with Play-Doh!

Play-Doh Mega Fun Factory Playset Hands-On Review

This Play-Doh playset is super fun with an actual moving conveyor belt that keeps the fun moving. There are different stops along the conveyor belt to cut, stamp, and collect your Play-Doh pretend toy and food toys before they end on the Play-Doh playmat. Two kids can easily share the fun with this toy at the same time, if they work together. 😉

First Step is to select a Play-Doh to select a Play-Doh to add to Press. This playset has storage for six 3-ounce cans of Play-Doh which is really cool. Choose a Play-Doh and press it out.It takes a little strength but my almost-4 year old can do it. I remember when she was just turning 3, she could hardly do it. This product is intended for kids 3 and up and it seems right on for the age appropriateness.

The amount of Play-Doh you add to the press and how much you press out determines how much will go on the conveyor belt. Once you reach the desired amount, their is a cutting device to snip it off from the Press.

Next is the gear with stamps, the playset comes with 2. One set has fun toy molds like My Little Pony, Mr. Potato Head, Tonka Trucks, etc. The other gear has various kinds of candy molds. When your child holds down the stamp, the conveyor belt stops. When the stamp is released, the conveyor belt starts again. You can rotate the gear to chance the stamp design in just a couple seconds.

Next, your Play-Doh creations are ready to be trimmed. Timing is a little tricky for a 3 year old but can be done. My daughter enjoyed cutting between the stamps.

Next, your pretend toys roll off the conveyor belt down into a tray. From there, you can trim off the surrounding Play-Doh material and play with your pretend toys on the Play-Doh activity map. There are white spaces located all over the mat that can be filled with creations you make on the Play-Doh Mega Fun Factory.

I highly recommend the Play-Doh Mega Fun Factory for the child who has never experienced Play-Doh before as well as the child that has every Play-Doh play mold or device. The Play-Doh Mega Fun Factory is an entirely new experience with Play-Doh.

As a side note, don’t be tempted to buy off-brand “play-doh” because it is cheaper because it IS CHEAP. With Play-Doh, you get what you pay for. I’ve tried cheap versions in the past and the product is nothing like the real thing. We were disappointed with hard-to-mold dough that dried up quickly and became un-usable. With Play-Doh brand, you get a product that can be used and reused over and over and over!

Don’t forget to have on hand,  2 “C” batteries as they not included.
