My kids have enjoyed playing with Play-Doh and various playsets for years. We have a bin that we keep the playsets and Play-Doh in. We like to get the bin out and explore all the ways to create and have fun with Play-Doh. Play-Doh is one activity that I as a mom really enjoy doing with my kids.
We were happy to review the Play-Doh Swirling Shake Shoppefor ages 3 and up. There are so many ways for kids to make and create everything from smoothies to shakes to ice cream sundaes complete with whipped cream and toppings. My daughter is 5 years old and could do every aspect of the Play-Doh Swirling Shake Shoppe on her own. Below, she is using the Whipped Cream Extruder to fill up a sundae cup full of lemony ice cream. Of course, you could also use it to top off your smoothies and shakes too.
The Play-Doh Swirling Shake Shoppe comes with 4 fruit stamps that connect to the machine.
You connect the fruit shape stamps to the unit by pressing the stamper down. My 5 year old was able to put them on and take them off on her own, a 3 year old would need assistance.
The center of the Play-Doh Swirling Shake Shoppe is where all the action is. You add all of the fruit shapes that you created to the shake maker, turn the crank and all the fruits and colors swirl together to make a yummy fruit smoothie or shake. My kids have it so engrained in them not to mix the Play-Doh colors that we just did single color shakes. 🙂
Besides the fruit molds, there are many molds all over the playset for kids to press Play-Doh in for various fruit shapes, swirls, and other shapes to add to their Play-Doh creations.
My daughter had a great time preparing ice cream treats for the whole family. Combining creative Play-Doh fun with food play is an excellent idea for kids like Elizabeth who loves both! As a mom, I also liked that it was easy to clean out the Play-Doh from all the nooks and crannies. It seemed like it was much easier than previous playsets.
