We were excited to be able to test out the world’s first robotic ball for kids that is controlled by a smartphone or tablet. It puts a whole new twist on family game night!! There are so many ways to play with Sphero – for kids and adults!
We could hardly wait to charge it to start the fun. Let me warn you, it is addicting. My son, daughter, husband, and I all took turns playing with Sphero, even our dog, Roxy went crazy over it. It is a good thing that it is pet-proof and even waterproof. Don’t worry about limiting the fun with this robotic toy!

Sphero is impressive as it speeds across the surface at 7 feet per second and can turn in any direction instantly. It flies across the floor, complete with robotic sounds and changing colors to delight all – except for maybe your pet!
The fun doesn’t stop there! There are more than 30 free apps that extends the fun for independent play and even with friends. You can create obstacle courses, turn a room into an actual video game! It turns any party or family game night into one filled with laughter and fun by all. My kids really enjoy the Rolling Dead game where Sphero is out to get the zombies!
My kids loved playing with the Sphero with the two included ramps. They enjoyed setting them up in different manners for the ball to fly through the air! Roxy was confused at how this ball could get away from her, speed right up to her and turn! We have a lot of fun playing with Sphero and Roxy together! 
The Sphero is easy to use with a smartphone. It is geared for ages 8 and up, but even my 7-1/2 year old daughter could easily control the device.
Sphero isn’t just fun, it is also a great learning tool. There is even a Sphero SPRK (Schools, Parents, Robots, Kids) program that teaches kids all about robotics, math, and basic programming skills.
